Facebook tries to put GIFs in the comments

Facebook also wants to jump on the animated GIF bandwagon . The social network is testing the option to add animated GIFs in the comments section.

If you are a fan of GIFs, you will know that this is nothing new on Facebook. In fact, we can use GIFs on this social network since 2015. And the GIF phenomenon is present everywhere. Even WhatsApp itself offers users the option of sending them through the application. They are also in Apple Messages, on Facebook Messenger and on Twitter .

Not to be left behind, Facebook is testing an option that will allow us to include these moving images in the comments . The Facebook team explains to Engadget that they are preparing the tests. In this way, users will have the opportunity to express themselves in a more original way and not only through words and emoticons. It is clear that our walls will never be the same again.

GIFs in comments will be tested in a few days

Facebook has ensured that the GIFs in the comments will enter the testing phase from next week. However, the team of the famous social network has warned that it is only a test and that the deployment for the common user is not yet assured .

At first, it appears that testing will begin for a small percentage of users. The operation will be very similar to that of the GIF systems that we already know today.

Most likely, we can access a search system to locate the appropriate GIFs for what we need. A kind of gallery from which to select the ones we like the most .

At the moment there is no specific date for the arrival of this improvement to common users. We will  continue to be attentive to confirm it .
