Map of Catalunya mute

Map of Catalunya mute

Silent maps can be very useful, especially from a didactic point of view. Why? Well, because after having studied physical and political geography, students can complete what they have learned about the different territories. Either indicating the names of capitals, provinces or counties or rivers, mountain ranges and other physical phenomena that can occur on the ground.

In this case, the silent maps of Catalonia are, for the most part, white. You can find a whole white map, like the one we provide here . In this case, you can freely draw on it, indicating the capitals, for example, or any other information that may be interesting to you.

It occurs to us, for example, the possibility of adding drawings with the different monuments or most important tourist spots. But also in terms of gastronomy or dialects of Catalan . Whatever you have to include on the map, this first one will be great for you.

This is divided by provinces, so that you can indicate where Lleida, Tarragona, Girona and Barcelona are located in the place you deem most appropriate.

But if you need something more adapted, this map will suit you even better. Why? Well, because subdivisions have been made, not only by provinces, but by regions. If you are Catalan, you will know that there are certain very specific regions, beyond the provinces, that are of special interest.

For example, we have the plain of Lleida, the Ebro area, the province of Barcelona and the metropolitan area, the coast of Tarragona, Girona, central Catalonia and the Pyrenees. They are geographically more closely related , since, for example, the Pyrenees and the Lleida plain, despite being part of the Lleida province, are geographically widely separated and have little in common.

The same happens with the coast of Tarragona and the Ebro Delta . This second is a very characteristic and unique space, which deserves separate recognition. As much for the particularities of the territory, as for the dialect and its customs.

But we are going for more mute maps of Catalonia. Here you have them by regions, provinces and even with the main roads. This is very defined in colors and here you already have the four provinces indicated. Here some important capitals are indicated and in this you have the regions marked by colors, in which it would also be a silent map, but graphically more grateful.

With this you can learn the regions, and here you will see the different regions marked in gray scale and with a great resolution. Now, if what you are interested in is practicing the names of the rivers and the different tributaries, perhaps it will be better to download this map. It is a silent map of the rivers, so that you can identify the Ebro, the Segre, the Ter or the Llobregat , which are the most important rivers and tributaries in Catalonia.

Here you also have a silent physical map, very useful for learning the different mountain ranges and ranges . There you can identify, for example, the Pyrenees, Montserrat or mountain ranges as characteristic as Montsec or the Prades mountains.

Political maps of Catalonia

Political map of Catalonia

Do you know what political maps are? You've used loads of them countless times. Political maps are those that inform us about the name of the different regions, provinces, cities and other political locations. They are useful because they help us to identify where each of the places is located and because they are very useful for studying and learning.

Then, as we indicated, you can complete your study with a silent map . Thus, you will be able to identify on the map everything that you have learned with the political map. If you are not a student, political maps will also help you. Because you can use them to locate different cities on the map, recognize regions and provinces and have well located those points that you are going to visit.

You can find a good number of useful political maps on the Internet . In this one you only have the provinces, marked in colors, yes. You also have this other with the regions and this with the Catalan veguerías, that distribution by regions that we mentioned at the beginning.

In this map you can identify the provinces, but also the most important cities in Catalonia. And we are not referring only to Lleida, Barcelona, Tarragona and Girona . Nothing is further from reality. Here you will have the opportunity to locate and locate cities as relevant as La Seu d'Urgell, Valls, Reus, Tortosa, Badalona, Terrassa, Mataró, Manresa, Olot or Figueres on the map.

If you want to know everything about Catalonia, perhaps the map that will suit you best is this. In this case, you will see that all the data on provinces, counties and district capitals are included , a very important piece of information if you plan to walk from town to town or simply want to get to know the entire Catalan geography.

In this way, you will know that the capital of Pla d'Urgell is Mollerussa ; that Anoia is Igualada and that in Garraf, the most important city is Vilanova i la Geltrú. In this map you can also check which are the capitals of each region, with this you will be able to get a fairly accurate idea of what the main communication routes and roads are.

Physical maps of Catalonia

Physical maps of Catalonia

In Catalonia there are different relevant geographical phenomena , which you can easily locate within a physical map. For example, the Pyrenees are very evident, with mountain ranges of great importance. Hence, we find the Pre-Pyrenees and Pyrenees particularly marked. But this is not all.

We also find a couple of areas that are relevant because of how flat they are. These are the areas of Lleida, but also in the Empordá, a territory with special charm. Not surprisingly, it is home to some of the most beautiful coastal areas in Catalonia . Cities like Cadaqués, Roses, Begur, l'Escala ...

Another very characteristic area is, without a doubt, the Delta del Ebro . The mouth of this important river is a space where countless species converge. Its characteristics make it an especially rich area for growing rice, so this is one of the main activities in the territory. And it shows on the maps.

Then, there is the space of the mouth, geographically somewhat intricate, but sublimely beautiful. Unfortunately this area is in serious danger of disappearing due to the lack of sediment. You can check the constitution of this and other regions in the political maps of Catalonia that we offer below.

You will see that there are some very complete ones. Others will even help you to devise hiking trails. In fact, they are specifically designed for it. But there is much more. This physical map accurately marks the reliefs and this other one offers us coordinates, reliefs and roads. It never hurts to know where the main roads  to escape power, or rather, look for new places with charm.

This attaches great importance to the mountain ranges, because in fact, they are the axis of the community. And we have the Pyrenees and the Pre-Pyrenees , but also the central depression (which offers more generous lands thanks to the new canalizations), the pre-coastal and coastal mountains and the pre-coastal and coastal depressions.

In addition, on this map we find some important points on the Mediterranean coast , both Barcelona, Tarragona and Girona duly marked . We refer to the Illa de Buda, the Punta del Fangar, the Delta del Llobregat, the Cap de Tossa, the Cap de Begur, the Golf de Roses or the Cap de Creus. All emblematic places of our coast, natural heritage of Catalonia.

Maps of Catalonia of rivers

Maps of Catalonia of rivers

The good people of the Ebro say that the river is life and it is. Here and everywhere. Different rivers flow into Catalonia that are born in the rest of Spain and also in France. In fact, some of the most important tributaries flow from there. We could have included these maps within the physical maps section, but we preferred to leave the hydrography for this special section.

These are the main rivers and tributaries that pass through Catalonia and that you will see on the maps that we will offer you below: the Noguera Ribagorí§ana, the Segre, l'Ebre, l'Anoia, the Francolí, the Gaií, the Foix, the Llobregat, Besí²s, La Tordera, Ter, Fluvií and La Muga. Its sources are in Catalonia itself, although in the case of the Segre, which is one of the most important tributaries of the Ebro, it does so in Llo, a town in the French Alta Cerdanya.

This map is very simple, but it quite accurately shows the different rivers and tributaries as they pass through Catalonia. If you are looking for one that is not so specific, but shows the main rivers, this will also work for you. This other is much more concise, in the sense that it offers a lot of information regarding the rivers, but also about the different reservoirs, swamps and water reservoirs.

It allows us to see which rivers pass through certain areas of Catalonia , but also the famous reservoirs of Santa Anna, Canelles, Sant Antoni, Terradets or Camarasa. You can also locate on the map emblematic places such as Núria, the La Baells reservoir, Sau, Pasteral or Susqueda.

That of Sau is especially emblematic because it was built on the town . Even today, when the water level drops, the bell tower of the old town can be seen. A ghost of time, purely.

This other map is also quite specific and complete to indicate the Catalan hydrographic network. But if you prefer, here is a document that will allow you to know the system and identify the basins of the territory. In case you need even more specific information can be calm, because we have found another map in which even the streams are marked: tiny water pipes are often quite dry, but still signposted walk.

If you are learning rivers or want your children or students to learn them, you have to download this map. It is a mute map on which are marked rivers . When you identify them, just write their name on the paper, within the white spaces.

Another question that you should know about the Catalan hydrographic network. Back in the 16th century, a project to transport irrigation water from the Segre river (which passes through Lleida) to the fields of the Urgell, Pla d'Urgell, Noguera, Segrií and Garrigues regions, which are those of the flat of Lleida.

The project started in the 19th century. What was created was the Canal d'Urgell, a hydraulic infrastructure for irrigation , which allowed people to take advantage of their land. In fact, this is the main reason why most of the fruit that is consumed here is produced in this place.

The canal is made up of two canals and four main ditches , with a length of 144.2 kilometers and a capacity to irrigate an area of more than 70,000 hectares. These maps illustrate the capacity offered by this infrastructure, which allowed to give life - and which continues to give life - to an absolutely dry territory. This is the passage of the main canal of the canal and this is a route that can be done by bicycle, crossing the canal.
