How to see all the features of my Windows computer

PC features in Windows

Surely you have ever found yourself in the need to know specific details of your computer . An easy way to have the complete data is to look at the original box of the PC or laptop or even check the model name printed on the equipment itself and then search for it on the web. But of course, we do not always have the box at hand and in many devices there is no mention of the specific model. If you are using Windows 7 or Windows 8 , there are several ways to learn more about the PC in a few steps without having to download any type of extra program. We will tell you how to know the main technical characteristics of your equipment.

The first of the ways in which we can consult some technical details of the computer is through the "basic information of the equipment". To see these details in Windows 8 we can go to the file explorer and then right-click on "This computer" . The option that interests us in this small drop-down menu is "Properties" . It can also be accessed directly from the control panel of the equipment in the configuration of "System and security" and then "System". In Windows 7, in addition to the modes that we have just highlighted, we have the option to open the start menu, then right-click on "Computer" and properties.

The screen that appears then will be similar to the one shown in the image above. From here we can see the manufacturer, the specific data about the processor with the specific name of the model, the processing speed and the installed RAM . We will also know if the panel has touch functionality and the name that we have given to the team when configuring Windows. This can be a good way to know the PC model if we have given it the specific name, although it is likely that we wanted to personalize it with another type of title such as our own name (or a more creative title).

Dxdiag on Windows

A safer way to know the specific model of the system, there is another more complete option. This is the DirectX Diagnostic Tool , which is included in the Windows system. To access it in Windows 8, we can go to the main interface of the system (where we find the bricks with the apps) and start typing “Dxdiag” . The first search result is the one we have to open. We can also click with the right button of the mouse in the lower left corner, choose the option "Run" and then write "dxdiag" in the box. In a similar way, in Windows 7 we open the start menu and click on "Run"to access the same box.

When we are in the sale, we can immediately see a summary with some of the most relevant technical details of our team. Among them, the specific model of the equipment together with "System model". Within the tabs we will be able to know more information about aspects such as the graphics that the computer runs (curiously, the graphics of the processor itself are shown in "Screen" and the dedicated graphics card in the "Represent" tab ).
