Guide to using YOPmail, the anonymous email account with expiration date

Today, email is of great value in any field, be it personal or professional. Having an email account is our window to the world to communicate with companies, clients, relatives ... Or, also, it may be that we simply need it to register on a website where we have to link an email to our user account.

In the latter case, temporary email services are really useful if we want to temporarily register on a website and avoid flooding your personal email with spam or junk .

Temporary or disposable mail services have been around for a long time. However, not everyone knows their use and the possibilities they offer. Among all of them, the most famous is YOPmail, and here we are going to explain how to start getting the most out of it . We started.

What is YOPmail?

As we have already anticipated, YOPmail is nothing more than a temporary, anonymous and registration-free email service . This service, like most temporary emails, is very useful for registering in forums, newsletters, etc., and avoiding spam.

In short, a disposable email account whose only drawback is that it does not allow to send email to accounts that do not belong to YOPmail (because otherwise it would become a spam transmitter). The messages are stored for 8 days , although we can also delete them manually.

How do I open an account?

First, we will have to access the home of the temporary and anonymous mail service that YOPmail offers. Next, we proceed to enter the name or email address that we want in the box or field located in the central part on the left of the screen (in the computer version). For this we have two options:

  1. We write an unusual email name, that is, nothing for Pablo, Curro or María, since these types of everyday names are often widely used by users of this service. Remember that a password is not required to access the email , so anyone would have access to it or we ourselves could enter an account already created with that name. Therefore, something more difficult and rare is recommended, as in the example above. Once written, we click on the button «Check the email». We will automatically have our new disposable email and we will access the YOPmail inbox to start using it.

  1. If no name comes to mind, we can always choose the option to open the "Email Generator" , just below the first option. In this way, we will access a new page where the YOPmail system itself will automatically give us a name for the temporary mail. We will not waste a second, and we will immediately access the YOPmail inbox by clicking on the button that says "Check mail".

Most common uses

Once inside the inbox, we can instantly start sending emails to any other user who is  registered on the Yopmail platform  and has shared their email with us. In this sense, we will not be able to send messages to Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail / Outlook.com emails or any other.yopmail_3

Otherwise, the interface is very basic. To send a message from YOPmail, just click on the text that says "New" , located in a tab above the tray where the emails are viewed or written.

As soon as we create an email with YOPmail, we will also have an email alias that we can use to create an account in a specific online service, such as Netflix or HBO. This alias can also be seen above the inbox .

Another of the strengths that Yopmail offers us is the possibility of bypassing the restrictions that some websites put on the use of temporary emails . When trying to open an account in a certain online service, they can block our registration if the email has the yopmail.com extension.

Thanks to the option "Substitute domains", located on the home page of the web, we can choose different domains or with another extension to which messages can reach and thus avoid this type of problem. We even have the option to add our own domain.

As if that were not enough, this platform  does not put any kind of limit to the indiscriminate creation of temporary emails . Of course, there are certain restrictions regarding the capacity of each of the accounts created, such as not being able to send to accounts of other providers.

What other options are there?

Although we already have what is necessary to start working with YOPmail, there are also other alternative options that we can take into consideration for the same purpose . Here is a sample of what we consider most interesting:

10minutemail.net: this peculiar service will create a completely random email account that will be valid for only 10 minutes. Once that time has elapsed, the service offers us the option of extending the duration of the email address or completely eliminating it and creating a new one. Seriously, give it a try.

NowMyMail: temporary email service that provides us with a random temporary email address that will be valid for one hour. After the hour the content of our temporary email will also be deleted, without giving us the option to extend the duration.

Guerrilla Email: once again we are facing a new turn of the screw. This temporary email service keeps created email addresses permanently. Of course, the messages we receive disappear after an hour, whether you have read them or not. We can also customize the email address by  choosing both the name and the domain, which you can extract from a selection of ten domains, or by creating our own.
