SopCast is a free program to watch TV channels and streaming videos over the internet. The videos are transmitted in P2P , that is, like download programs like uTorrent , when you watch a video, you act as a transmitter so that other users can see it, and so on. You can watch channels that appear in the program's list, or look for people who broadcast on specialized pages if you are looking for other content. The latest version of SopCast is 3.4.7 . To use SopCast we can create a user account and use it anonymously . Once inside, it has several tabs with the different menus. In live channels we have a list of channels organized by different genres . To start watching the channel, just double click on it and a window with the player will appear next to it , and it will start to load and play the video. It has full screen, audio and playback controls.
If you are interested in the content of a channel, with PodCast you can record its content and save it to watch it later . The recording time can be programmed from 15 to 300 minutes , with the option of recording daily or once. In the My SOP tab , we can start our own server , selecting a file folder, a file or streaming , to share our own channel with other Internet users.
SopCast uses an external player , by default Windows Media Player , but in options we can select our favorite player . The program checks for new updates automatically when we open it and you can choose the network port for your channel.
