Redmi 7 (left) vs Redmi 8 (right)
Redmi, one of Xiaomi's brands, has announced a new entry-level terminal: the Redmi 8. This device comes to renew the Redmi 7, which until now remains one of the most recommended for users looking for good features for the day to day at a reduced price. The Redmi 8 improves some aspects of its predecessor. These are the main differences between both devices.
The design changes
One of the main changes is in the design. The Redmi 7 followed the same design line as its Note range, with a shiny rear, a camera on one side and the fingerprint reader in the center. In this case, the Redmi 8 more closely resembles this year's new range. Especially in the design of the back, in those new colors and that lava effect that is so striking. Also in the position of the cameras, which are now in the center and next to the fingerprint reader and the company logo.
Where we do not see so much difference is in the front. Both have a panoramic format, a notch in the upper area for the camera and a somewhat more pronounced bezel at the bottom. The differences are minimal: the notch on the Redmi 8 is shaped like a 'V', while that on the Redmi 7 is shaped like a 'U'. On the other hand, on the Redmi 8 the company logo has been added.
More battery in the new Redmi 8
Now we have more battery. Much more. The Redmi 7 stood out for its 4,000 mAh of autonomy. Considering the specs, the duration is pretty good. However, the company has wanted to add 1000 mAh more to the new model: a total of 5,000 mAh for the Redmi 8. The load also changes. 10W on the Redmi 7 and 18W on the new Redmi 8.

Small changes in performance
This time the difference is somewhat strange, especially in the processor. It seems that Xiaomi has wanted to add a less powerful chip in the Redmi 8, possibly so that the terminal has a cheaper price . The new model has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor, while the Redmi 7 incorporates a Snapdragon 632 processor. According to different tests, the Snapdragon 632 is slightly more powerful than the 439.
However, in the RAM there is a small difference against the Redmi 7. This came to the market with three variants of RAM: 2, 3 and 4 GB. Now, in the Redmi 8, the minimum version of 2 is eliminated, and we find 3 GB of base and 4 GB for the most powerful version. The same goes for storage. Goodbye to the 16GB version on this year's device, as we only have 32 and 64 of internal storage . The expansion through micro SD is maintained up to 512 GB.
Now the screen is a little smaller
The screen of the Xiaomi Redmi 8 is now a bit more compact than that of the Redmi 7. Last year's device has a 6.26-inch LCD panel. Now we find a 6.22-inch LCD screen. Of course, there is not much difference in size. The HD + resolution is maintained, so the density of pixels per inch is slightly higher on the Redmi 8.
The price
We could say that the price also changes, but we have to take it with a grain of salt, since the Redmi 8 has not yet been announced in Spain, so the cost of the terminal could change considerably to the one mentioned. At the moment, the cost of the Redmi 8 is known to change in Rupees. This model is priced at around 100 euros to change for the 3 GB version and 32 GB of internal memory. The 2 GB + 16 GB version of the Redmi 7 costs 140 euros in Spain, and the 3 GB + 32 version goes up to 160 euros.
The variant of 4 Gb of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage is priced at about 115 euros to change . While this same variant in the Redmi 7 costs 180 euros.
These are the main changes of the Redmi 8 with respect to the Redmi 7. It is important to note that the specifications of the new Redmi 8 could change slightly with its arrival in Spain. Mainly in the configuration of RAM, storage and prices.
