Gmail is one of the most used email managers in the world. It is efficient, fast and has a very visual interface. In addition, it is quite safe, something you should always pay attention to when choosing a service of this type. As if this were not enough, Gmail has some features so that you are more comfortable when handling it. One of them is the ability to add or remove categories and tabs from the inbox. This is very useful to maintain order in this section. And, if you usually receive emails of all kinds, you will need not to end up panicking in your inbox.
Add or remove categories and tabs from your inbox
To add or remove categories or tabs from the Gmail inbox, the first thing you have to do is go to the Settings section in your account. You will see it in the upper right, the icon shaped like a gear wheel. Next you will see a series of options (General, labels, accounts and import ...) Among all of them, click on the Received tab.
Within this tab, enter the "Inbox type" section. Then choose Default . Keep in mind that to hide all the tabs, you must select another type of inbox (important, starred, unread or priority). Therefore, in the "Categories" section, check the boxes of the tabs you want to show. Of course, you will not be able to create tabs, only show or hide the ones that already exist.
Now you just have to scroll to the bottom of the page and save all the changes made. In the event that when the time comes you cannot find emails from a category, we recommend that you use the search engine located at the top of the page. If you want to search in a category, type the word category followed by the category name and the search term. For example, if you type category: social music, all the emails from the social tab that include the word "music" will appear.
