How to tune La 1, Antena 3, Cuatro or La Sexta again

DTT

Tonight we have turned the clocks back, but it is not the only change that has occurred. It is also the scheduled date for the anticipated " DTT move ". Some channels have changed frequency and, although there is no blackout , the Spanish will have to retune our DTT equipment to adapt to the change. This move is the reason for the distribution of these frequencies to mobile telephone operators. These bands will be used from now on to offer 4G mobile connectivity, while television channels will use different ones. The change has been carried out last night, specifically between 2:00 and 6:00, although with the time change the channels have had an extra hour to be able to do the whole process.

As mentioned, no blackout, ie that the channels will still see as if nothing had happened, but there is a limit period . Channels will start broadcasting on the new frequency, but will also continue broadcasting on the old one. On January 1, 2015 is when the power outage, but only have to attune to be seen again. Retuning is quite simple and can be done directly from the TV remote itself, we will tell you how to do it in a few simple steps.

Before starting, keep in mind that each model of television or DTT tuner may have different menus, as well as various control buttons on the remote control. Normally they all have a cross key to move up, down, left or right. There is also a button with the text OK or Accept , which is usually in the center of this cross. These are the basic controls that we will have to handle in order to move through the menus.

How to retune the DTT

1. The first thing we have to do is press the menu key .

2. Now we enter the section called Installation or Configuration . As we have already said, the arrow keys are used to move and with OK we enter each section.

3. Within the Configuration sub-menu we should see an option called Automatic Tuning or Channel Search . We move to it and press OK to start the process. Normally a progress bar appears so that we can see how much time is left approximately.

This is all, there are three simple steps with which we will update our DTT to continue watching all the channels. However, and although it is not usual, some of the channels may have moved from their original position when you finish retuning . In this case they would have to be reordered manually, also from the Settings menu . Within Order Channels (it also appears as moving channels) we can organize the list as it best suits us so as not to get involved when zapping. Remember that you have until January 1 to retune your DTT.
