LG Q6, characteristics, price and opinions

LG Q6, features, price and opinions

The LG Q6, the smallest version of the LG G6, is now official. After several rumors, LG has decided to go public. It also comes in three variants: LG Q6, LG Q6 + and LG Q6a . Both will arrive safely in Spain, while the third is likely not to disembark in our country. The differences between the Q6 are few. All three models include the FullVision screen (practically without frames) as their best feature, but they say goodbye to the dual camera. Otherwise, we have a mid-range technical set. The LG Q6 will arrive in Spain in August with a price of 350 euros . At the moment the cost of the LG Q6 + has not been confirmed, which would land in September.

LG Q6 front

There is no doubt that one of the most attractive points of the LG G6 has been its screen. We are talking about a spectacular panel with a QHD + resolution of 2,880 x 1,440 pixels that occupies practically the entire front. It seemed that this screen was going to be reserved only for the high-end, but this has changed. LG has decided to bring the FullVision screen (that's what they call it) to a terminal with half its price . Of course, with certain nuances.

Frameless display

As we said, the most striking feature of the new LG Q6 is its screen. The Korean company has decided to extend its frameless design to a lower-end terminal. However, we won't have exactly the same screen that we saw on the LG G6 .

Although the 18: 9 aspect ratio is maintained, the resolution and size are not the same. On the one hand, the LG Q6 and its variants have a 5.5-inch screen . And on the other hand, the resolution changes to 2,160 x 1,080 pixels. LG has called this resolution Full HD +. The density then stays at 442 dpi.

Technical data aside, the LG Q6 offers a design similar to its older brother . The edges around the screen are minimal and the back is rounded. Although it does not offer the same feeling of being in front of a high-end terminal as the LG G6, it also incorporates metal frames.

Under the hood we have a technical mid-range set. The entire LG Q6 range includes Qualcomm's Snapdragon 435 processor . The standard LG Q6 comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. On the other hand, the LG Q6 + increases up to 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. And the younger brother, the LG Q6a, offers 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

All other features, such as the processor, are shared. All three models have a 3,000 milliamp battery and Android 7.1.1 Nougat as the operating system.

No trace of the double camera

launch LG Q6, Q6 + and Q6a camera

As expected after seeing its specifications, there is no trace of the dual camera . It is clear that LG has wanted to include its FullVision screen in a terminal in which it has had to make sacrifices to lower the price.

LG Q6 profile

Thus, the LG Q6 in all its variants has a 13 megapixel main camera of which practically no data has been given. What we do know is that animated GIFs can be created from our videos. On the other hand, the front camera is 5 megapixels and wide angle. Thanks to this, larger selfies are achieved, something to be thankful for when photographing a group or a landscape or large building behind us.

We also see this cut in some sections of connectivity. For example, we do not have USB-C and the wireless connection is WiFi 802.11n . However, the company has included NFC connectivity. Another of the great absent from the LG Q6 will be the fingerprint reader. What we will enjoy is a face recognition system, which we can also find in models like the Samsung Galaxy S8 +.

The LG Q6 will arrive in Spain in the first days of August for a price of 350 euros. As for the LG Q6 +, it will take a bit longer. In principle, we will have to wait until September 15.
