Facebook adds its own screen sharing feature

Facebook adds its own screen sharing feature

Attention, Facebook users. Those responsible for this social network have just added a new function that may interest you. It is the option to share your screen directly through Facebook Live . A function that until now could only materialize through other complementary software.

Well, Matt Navarra, a journalist for The Next Web, has detected this functionality and has shared it with users through the networks. As he explained, when you want to share your screen through Facebook Live, from now on you will have it much easier.

In principle, you only need to access the live broadcasts function. When the tool is updated, you should see a new button that says "Screen Share . " Click here and Facebook will ask you to give it permission to install an extension in your browser.

In this sense, you should bear in mind that the functionality, for now, is only available with Chrome. Those who have also wanted to try it with Firefox have not been so successful. We have to indicate, in any case, that the function is already operational in Spain. If you want to try it, you just have to follow the instructions that we provide below.

4. When you're ready, all you have to do is click the blue Transmit button. From this point on, your contacts may receive a notification that you are sharing something live. When you're done, leave the broadcast.

Don't look for advanced options, because there aren't any

Unfortunately, Facebook Live does not offer advanced options or features when it comes to screen sharing through this system. Some features, such as placing the webcam in the corner of the screen while streaming, are not operational.

However, if what you need is a basic and simple option to share your screen through Facebook direct, here is an interesting solution. The quality of streaming, yes, can be seriously conditioned by your technical resources: such as the screen or the Internet connection itself.
