The Chinese company Huawei also has an important collection of devices intended for a basic range. The Huawei Ascend Y330 is an affordable proposal for all budgets that will especially appeal to those users who are willing to renew their old phone with an economical proposal. Huawei's new device is very colorful, in five different colors: white, black, yellow, pink and blue . It has a four-inch screen mounted and works through a processor with a two-core architecture, capable of offering a performance adjusted to what any mid-range user needs. Logically, and as is usual in smartphonesfrom Huawei , works through the Android operating system in its version 4.2 (Jelly Bean) .
In the connection section, it gets along well with 3G and WiFi networks , so that users can connect to the Internet and enjoy downloading data without problems, both to navigate between pages and to download email wherever they are, among many other functions. It includes GPS, Bluetooth and has an internal memory of 4 GB , expandable with microSD cards of up to 32 GB . The new Huawei Ascend Y330 will hit the market sometime in the second quarter of 2014 for a price of 80 euros , on the free market.
Design and display
One of the most striking features of the Huawei Ascend Y330 has to do precisely with the design. And it is that the new Huawei equipment is presented with a most colorful case, made up of a range of five different proposals, in white, blue, black, yellow and pink . It is also a compact and lightweight terminal meets measures of 122.1 x 63.5 x 11.3 mm and weighs about 126 grams , including battery. The protective casing is completely made of plastic, which guarantees a good consistency in the grip and the greatest comfort when storing the phone in your pocket.
Another important element is, without a doubt, the screen. In this case, Huawei has decided to opt for a capacitive multi - touch screen with dimensions of 4 inches (diagonal) and a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels , which leads to a resulting density of 254 dots per inch (dpi) . Being a basic range terminal, this Huawei Ascend Y330 does not incorporate any protective layer (of the Corning Gorilla type ) that can protect the main glass against bumps and scratches.
The Huawei Ascend Y330 is not a phone that is expressly prepared for photographic capture. We need to talk about a 3 megapixel camera that will allow us to obtain images in a fairly basic quality, which means that this phone did not prove very useful to make great photos, but that could get us out of more than a pinch. Luckily, Huawei has decided to integrate an LED Flash into the equipment to obtain superior performance when taking photos in poor lighting conditions. This same camera is the one that will also allow us to record simple videos, in a VGA resolution .
Power and memory
But now let's take a look at the heart of the team. The Huawei Ascend Y330 comes equipped as a mid-range entry-level terminal with a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor per core. This engine combines with 512 MB of RAM memory , essential to obtain a minimum performance when executing the main programs and applications. This is not an exaggerated performance, so that the terminal will be suitable for users who do not intend to install large amounts of applications or enjoy video games with high graphic potential. For the rest, we can indicate that the Huawei Ascend Y330 has an internal memory of 4 GB, suitable for storing all kinds of content (music, photos, videos, documents ...) and applications. This capacity, which may remain somewhat fair at certain times, can be expanded with microSD cards of up to 32 GB .
Operating system and applications
Like the vast majority of Huawei phones (except for some very specific models that are based on Windows Phone ) this Huawei Ascend Y330 also works through the Google icon platform . Unfortunately, the version that runs on this computer is not the latest. It is Android 4.2 Jelly Bean , but it is possible that in the not too distant future this edition could be updated. For the rest, and like any Android device , it has integrated many of the services that Google makes available to its customers for free. We can mention the following:Google Search, Google Maps, Navigator, Gmail, YouTube, Google Drive, Calendar and Google Play , the application store from which users will have the opportunity to improve and extend the functions of the phone.
The new Huawei Ascend Y330 is a phone perfectly prepared for connectivity. The device is compatible for 2G networks and 3G networks , which means that users will be able to connect to the Internet via HSDPA protocol of up to 21 Mbps and HSUPA of 5.76 Mbps, maximum. The phone also supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0 wireless networks , allowing users to sync all kinds of content and accessories without cables. It includes, on the other hand, GPS technology , useful for users to use the phone as a GPS navigator through Google Maps to enjoy navigation routes in the car, but also the preparation of routes on foot.
In the section on physical connections, the Huawei Ascend Y330 integrates output 3.5 mm headphone jack and microUSB input , essential for synchronizing content. Finally, it integrates a microSD card slot that will allow users to expand the memory of the phone up to 32 GB .
Music, video, photos and multimedia
How could it be otherwise, the Huawei Ascend Y330 is a phone prepared for the reproduction of multimedia content. So much so that it is compatible with the main most used formats, both music, video or photos . But this is not all, because the terminal integrates the FM Radio function that will allow the user to enjoy their favorite stations when they are tired of playing their own music. This can be stored on microSD memory cards of up to 32 GB , maximum, which guarantees the greatest variety that the user can imagine. For the rest, and like any Android phone , it integrates direct access to the YouTube application, which will facilitate the reproduction of streaming content at any time and place.
Autonomy and availability
The new Huawei Ascend Y330 is equipped with a lithium-ion battery with a medium capacity (1,500 milliamps). Huawei has not offered specific data on the autonomy of the terminal, but the truth is that taking into account its capacity and benefits, it is very likely that the battery can be extended for more than a day of normal use . For the rest, it seems that the phone will go on sale from the next few weeks, also in Spain, for 80 euros in the free market . It is possible, on the other hand, that the operators offer users different offers with interesting discounts.
