Samsung NX500

The new Samsung NX500 has arrived to gain a foothold in the upper-middle range of the compact APS-C with interchangeable lenses. With its backlit sensor 28,2 megapixels and hybrid approach with 205 points and 209 phase detection by contrast , does not lack arguments to the new Samsung to convince any user. Design

With a modern and functional look, this is what the new Samsung NX500 looks like . Exact dimensions are 119.5 x 63.6 x 42.5 mm , and weight stays in 292 grams , only the body. It is available in two colors, black or white, which are always combined with the metal plate or top panel, and it also has a small handle that will make handling easier and more relaxed. The new Samsung NX500 is equipped with an APS-C- sized back-illuminated CMOS sensor , the same format that many low-end and mid-range SLR cameras are equipped with . The resolution is 28.2 megapixels , allowing us to take pictures with a maximum size of no less than 6,480 x 4,320 pixels . The new DRIMe 5 processor streamlines capture and image processing, enabling the NX500 to burst at up to nine images per second , with a maximum shutter speed of 1 / 6,000 seconds. The autofocus system uses a hybrid configuration with 205 detection points per phase and 209 points per contrast , being possible to choose between active, continuous, single or manual focus. As we have said above, the flash comes standard, but it is an external unit that will have to be inserted into the hot shoe every time we want to use it unless we always leave it there, of course.

The NX500 can be operated both through the physical control buttons and wheels as well as through the Super AMOLED touch screen of three inches and 1,036,000 dots of resolution, and can also be tilted 180 degrees vertically and can also rotate  45 degrees downwards . This facilitates shooting from difficult angles and also, of course, the famous selfies.

Turning now to the cinematic way, our  NX500 has the ability to record video format 4K ie 4,096 x 2,160 pixels at 24 frames per second or 3,840 x 2,160 pixels at 30 fps . As is logical, in addition to 4K / UHD, we can choose other smaller resolutions for our home movies, such as Full HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) , HD (1,280 x 720) or VGA (640 x 480) . The camera incorporates a stereo microphone to capture the audio, and the file rate can also be chosen between 60, 30, 25 or 24 frames per second.

Connectivity and autonomy .

Like most cameras in this industry, the new NX500 is equipped with wireless ports so that photos can be shared with a smartphone or tablet right out of the box. Thus, we can choose between the WiFi port , the Bluetooth or the near field NFC system to send the images. The NX500 also includes a video output on HDMI and a USB port for transferring files via cable. In terms of autonomy, the built-in 1,130 milliamp battery allows approximately 370 shots on one charge.
