Samsung stops updating to Android 8 for the Samsung Galaxy S8

Last week we told you that Samsung had launched the long-awaited update to Android 8 Oreo. It is the most recent that exists. And the one that all users of compatible devices are waiting like May water.

The first to receive it, as we told you, had to be the participants in the beta tests of this update. It was expected that the data packet would then begin to be deployed to the other devices. Including those that are not part of the testing program. And logically, those that are in Spain.

The point is that now there has been an unexpected change. Because Samsung has stopped updating to Android 8 Oreo for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 +. If you have one of these two devices in your pocket, you may have to prepare to wait a little longer.

Why was the update stopped?

Users who have already been lucky enough to update their terminals to Android 8 Oreo (probably not cases of devices located in Spain), should not have any problem . In fact, they will be able to continue using the devices with the new version of Android.

What's new in Android 8 Oreo for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 +

Android 8 Oreo is a long-awaited update for users of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 + . Because, in fact, it brings a good number of improvements and new functionalities. For starters, a new version of Samsung Experience UX, the customization layer that the Korean firm usually adds to all its devices.

It is expected, on the other hand, that the owners of these teams will see improved performance of their phones . On the other hand, the new adaptive icons and the Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode are essential, which will allow users to use another application while another is playing (it can be the maps, a video on YouTube, etc.).

Improving device performance will reduce the wear and tear caused by background applications . And new options will be introduced when it comes to controlling and managing notifications.

If you have a Samsung Galaxy S8 or S8 + and you live in Spain, you will most likely still have to wait a little longer. We do not know how many days or weeks it will be. Remember, of course, that you can check if there are pending updates, accessing the Settings section > Software update> Manual download.
