With the arrival of September a new course begins in schools, institutes and universities. The calculator will be a fundamental tool for many students, so we have created this post with five models of scientific calculators for the institute and the university. We offer you models of all prices to try to cover all your needs.
HP 10s +
HP 10s + is an ideal scientific calculator for all types of ESO and Baccalaureate students . Its design is very similar to the old Casio you probably know from your student days, but somewhat more advanced over the years.
It is a fairly compact calculator, which works with batteries and with solar energy if you are in a well-lit place. It has 240 functions and everything that is needed to solve the problems and operations that arise at this level of studies.
Its price is about 10 euros, which is a very good relationship between price and performance.
This is a slightly more advanced model than the previous one, ideal for high school students targeting an engineering or other discipline with a strong link to advanced calculus. Its screen is 6 lines, and offers no less than 300 functions that will be very useful.
Its larger screen allows displaying much more information related to operations, something that can help students better understand how the calculations they are doing work.
It also works with batteries and with solar energy. Its price of 20 euros is very tight for all the benefits and features it offers to students.
It is a fairly advanced model and focused on university students. Casio has managed to create a calculator with very good performance, and a very tight sale price if we take into account the range in which these types of devices move. It is very intuitive to use, and shows a large amount of information on its 8-line screen with 21 characters .
It has a total of 2800 functions related to algebra, calculus, probability, statistics, trigonometry and geometry. It also offers a USB port so you can connect it to the computer and program functions thanks to its 62 Kbyte internal memory.
It is priced at about 73 euros, it may seem that it is expensive, but it is actually a tight price for the features it offers.
We go up another step and we find a calculator that has a large color screen . This allows you to make very detailed representations of graphics so that you can understand them more easily. You can also zoom in to enlarge the areas that interest you.
Another very interesting feature is that it supports formula programming in Python , so you can get the most out of it if you have knowledge of this popular programming language. Its price is 118 euros.
Texas Instruments- 89 Titanium
Texas Instruments is a veteran of high-performance scientific calculators. This model has been around for quite a few years, but it is still one of the best-selling calculators for engineering students.
It has applications for geometry, finance, statistics, equation solving, spreadsheet , as well as allowing the installation of others. Its USB port allows you to connect it to the computer to update its firmware and transfer files. Its price is 194 euros.
