The Danish company Bang & Olufsen has in its catalog some of the most exclusive speakers on the market. Among all of them, the BeoLab 90 stand out, luxury speakers with an astronomical price. Now the manufacturer has introduced the new BeoLab 50, the first speakers directly inspired by the BeoLab 90 . These new speakers offer high performance with a minimalist design. In addition, they are able to measure their environment to configure themselves and have a wireless connection. The Bang & Olufsen BeoLab 50 will arrive in the company's stores this month at a recommended price of 13,300 euros.
As we mentioned, to develop the Bang & Olufsen BeoLab 50 the company has based on acoustic research and technological development that was carried out with the BeoLab 90 . Therefore, both models share several characteristics.
As soon as we see the Bang & Olufsen BeoLab 50 we realize that we are not looking at just another speaker. The loudspeaker offers a rounded-looking design thanks to its floating lines and visible edges. Also of note are the silver polished aluminum surfaces and oak wood slats , recognizable marks of Bang & Olufsen equipment.
The bottom of the speaker is designed to visually lift it off the ground , giving it a lightweight appearance. However, that lightness is limited to the design, as each speaker weighs 61 kilograms.
Custom sound
Bang & Olufsen BeoLab 50 loudspeakers feature Active Room Compensation technology . Using an external microphone, the speakers measure their acoustic environment and apply compensation filters to achieve optimal sound reproduction at any listening position.
In addition, the BeoLab 50 include the exclusive Acoustic Lens Technology , Bang & Olufsen's hallmark. This is integrated into the upper part of the loudspeaker to process the dispersion of higher frequencies sound. Thanks to the Beam Width Control, the lens is able to distribute the sound in a 180 degree angle. And we can even configure a specific audio mode to direct the sound to the optimal listening position.
When the BeoLab 50 is switched on, the lens emerges with a subtle movement, revealing a dimly lit cavity. Bang & Olufsen BeoLab 50 speakers offer a whopping 2,100 watts of power .
Wireless connectivity
The Bang & Olufsen BeoLab 50 are interconnected with Digital Power Link in a master-slave configuration with sound sources entering the system through the master speaker connection panel. As a complement to the cable connection, BeoLab 50 also incorporates wireless technology . This enables multi-channel digital audio streaming (based on WiSA technology).
The Bang & Olufsen app allows you to control the BeoLab 50, and helps you create and select different listening presets depending on the listening position and user preferences.

Bang & Olufsen BeoLab 50 speakers will be available in select Bang & Olufsen stores around the world in August 2017 at a suggested retail price of € 13,300 per speaker .
