The GIF images are animated images composed of one or more frames of a few seconds that are repeated over and over again. They have been with us for many years, but social networks have made them fashionable again. Although they have many uses, most users have taken advantage of this type of image to make funny montages around everyday news. And it is that now practically all social networks or messaging systems are compatible with this type of images . Today we are going to show you how easy it is to create your own GIF from a YouTube video .
If GIFs were not sufficiently known through the use of social networks such as Twitter or Facebook , their arrival in the messaging system par excellence throughout the world has made all users want to create their own animated images. WhatsApp introduced not long ago the possibility of sending GIF images through its application, although for now we will have to settle for GIF images that we have downloaded to our mobile or that we have created ourselves . According to some rumors, it won't take long for the messaging app to implement a GIF search system., but for now we can only send those that we have saved. Therefore, today we wanted to show you a small manual with which we can create our own animated GIF from a scene that we liked in a YouTube video . For this we will use a web service called Gifs.com .
The process is really simple. The first thing we have to do is open the official YouTube page and look for the video from which we want to get the GIF. Once located we have two options. We can copy the web address of the video and paste it into the bar at the top of the gifs.com page ; Or, we can place the word "gif" directly on the web address . We have to place it between "www" and "youtube" . When we have it, we press Enter .
What we have done will take us directly to the gifs.com page with the video prepared . We will see a black screen that will show us a timeline at the bottom and a series of options on the left side of the screen. To select the piece of video that we want to create the GIF, we will click on the bar and drag and select the desired piece . Once selected, we will see the selected piece of video marked with a blue strip, a strip that we can move to adjust the selection. Once we are clear, we will click on the green check located on the left of the screen. This will cut the rest of the video and leave only the piece that interests us.
Now that we have the piece of video that we wanted to make the GIF, we can decorate it with the different options that the service provides us. With "Add Caption" we can enter text, select its location, if we want it to be throughout the entire GIF or appear at a specific time, select the color and font of the text and the alignment. With the option "Add Sticker" we can place a sticker that the program has or even upload one that we want. We can also crop the image with "Crop" or apply effects with "Padding" . Once we have it ready, we will click on "Create GIF" .
Once created, the web application will give us several options, from sharing it directly on our social networks to being able to link it from any web. We can also download the GIF , although for that we will have to register.
In short, a quick and easy way to create our own GIFs from YouTube videos , with the possibility of even adding text, other images and effects.
