Huawei has just renewed its Huawei MateBook D laptop with a new model to which it has added more performance. The team, which was announced last May, now returns with a version with eighth-generation Intel processors and more RAM . The design of the new Huawei MateBook D 2018 hasn't changed much. It's still really slim, with an 83 percent screen-to-body ratio, just like its predecessor. It also includes a 15.6-inch screen or a 43.3 Wh battery. The MateBook D 2018 has just been put on sale in China from 650 euros. At the moment, we do not know its availability in the rest of the countries.

Metallic body and more performance
The Huawei MateBook D 2018 wears a sleek and slim metallic unibody chassis. Its thickness is only 16.9 millimeters. It is a team with an 83 percent ratio between screen and body and a viewing angle of 178 degrees. The size of the panel is 15.6 inches with a Full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,070 pixels. We can say that it will not disappoint at all in terms of viewing quality. And it also offers a coverage of 45 percent of the NTSC color gamut and a brightness of 350 nits.
This new generation is powered by 8th generation Intel Core i7 or i5 processors along with 8GB RAM. The base model (with Intel Core i5 8250U chip) includes two options. One with 256 GB storage for SSD and another with 128 GB for SSD + 1 TB of hard disk. For its part, inside the top model there is room for an Intel Core i7-8550U CPU. With 128GB SSD + 1 TB for storage.
With regard to the graphic section there are also changes. The Huawei MateBook D 2018 has an Nvidia MX150 card. While its predecessor includes a lower one, an Nvidia 940MX. Likewise, the new laptop is equipped with a 43.3 Wh battery, which, according to the company, will give us up to 10 hours of use. Or a video playback time of about 8.5 hours.
At the level of connections and ports, the MateBook D 2018 has two USB 3.0 ports, a USB 2.0 port and an HDMI. In addition, it integrates a Dolby surround panoramic speaker system. The laptop uses a dual antenna design for Wi-Fi, which expands network coverage and signal range. Like the previous model, it is also governed by Windows 10.
Pricing and availability
At the moment, this new version is only available in China. The price of the model with Intel i5 processor with 256 GB SSD is about 650 euros to change. The i5 version with 128 GB SSD and 1TB hard drive is available in the Asian country for 705 euros at the exchange. Finally, the model with Intel Core i7 comes at an exchange price of 850 euros.
