The Huawei Mate S is the new flagship terminal of the Chinese company. A device that increases its size to 5.5 inches and that comes to replace the successful Huawei Ascend Mate 7 . Among the novelties that this terminal brings us, the Force Touch technology stands out in a special way , capable of measuring the pressure exerted on the screen and opening a new universe of possibilities to interact with our phone. Of course, at the moment we do not know if the version with this technology will arrive in Spain. Other features include a camera professional cutting with 13 megapixel resolution , metallic design with Gorilla Glass screen 4 and a battery of 2,700 milliampswith fast charge. This mobile will arrive in Spain from September 15 with a price of 650 euros for its 32 GB version and 700 euros for its version with 64 GB of memory. Design and display

Huawei has carefully designing your new Mate S . The company has used a single curved aluminum body that is combined with the 2.5D Gorilla Glass 4 glass to create an elegant design that maintains a premium line in all its elements. Furthermore, it has managed to maintain a competitive figure thickness of 7.7 mm and above all a weight of 156 grams which places it among the phablets thinner market. The Mate S Huawei marketed in four different color configurations: champagne and titanium gray in the configuration of 32 GB and gold and pinkin the 64GB configuration. Huawei also wanted to highlight a reinforcement layer on the touch glass to improve the phablet's resistance to splashes. Another point that must be highlighted in its design is the inclusion of a fingerprint reader just below the rear camera, which will not only allow us to unlock the equipment but also carry out actions such as taking a selfie.

In the screen section, a 5.5-inch AMOLED-type panel with a Full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels has been used. This resolution provides a density of 401 dots per inch , a more than remarkable value for enjoying high-quality content such as movies or videos. But above all, the great novelty of this phone is that it will be the first on the market to include Force Touch technology.. It is a technology capable of measuring the pressure on the glass, so that we can open a whole new universe of possibilities to interact with our smartphone (things have even been weighed on the panel during the presentation). The problem is that at the moment the price of the configuration with Force Touch has not been confirmed or if it will arrive in Spain , so we will have to wait. What we can surely enjoy is the Knuckle Sense 2.0 version  to carry out different gestures with the knuckles and open applications or take video captures of the screen. This panel uses Gorilla Glass 4 protection to improve its resistance against bumps and scratches.

Photographic camera

This device includes a rear camera with a resolution of 13 megapixels and sensor four - color RGBW should give us images with a professional cut. In addition, it has optical stabilization of the OIS image so that the final result does not shake and with a two-color LED flash so that the photos in low light are more natural and faithful to the original. This character closer to professional cameras is reinforced by the use of an independent image processor that will allow us to work with greater fluidity. The Huawei Mate S includes a processor from the Asian company. It is the eight-core HiSilicon Kirin 935 model with a power of 2.2 GHz in four of the cores and 1.5 GHz in the remaining four cores. This chip is combined with a 3 GB RAM memory to create a first class set, which should work without problems to run all the games and applications of the Android store . As for its internal memory, Huawei will market versions with a capacity of 32 GB and 64 GB . It has also dropped the option to launch a third configuration with 128 GBcapacity (although price or availability is not yet known).

Operating system and applications

The chosen operating system is Android 5.1 Lollipop. The latest version of the Google platform brings us a more colorful interface with more rounded icons and a general appearance that is closer than ever to iOS. But in addition, it has some interesting functions such as a new tool to switch between open apps more visual or the ability to see the charging time that we need to have a full battery. Along with this system, we will have the EMUI 3.1 software layerfrom the Asian company that will personalize the use of the terminal. The use of three microphones that are capable of analyzing the person who is speaking to record sounds more powerfully in that direction and eliminate other noises has also been highlighted.

Connectivity

In the field of connections, one of the main attractions is the inclusion of a double slot for SIM cards . In this way, we will be able to carry two different telephone lines (for example, private and work) in the same terminal. Nor could it miss the compatibility with high-speed 4G networks . And to avoid wasting data at home, it includes WiFi connectivity . At this point, it is missing that the company had opted for the WiFi AC protocol, which is becoming the norm in most high-end launches and which allows you to enjoy a faster and more stable network. Connections are completed with Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with AGPS and a MicroUSB 2.0 port to carry out the charge.

Autonomy, price and opinions

The Huawei Mate S has a 2,700 milliamp battery . It is a fairly limited capacity, and it remains to be seen how this terminal will work in continued use. Huawei wanted to highlight its fast charging function that will give us two hours of conversation with 10 minutes of charge. The Huawei Mate S will hit the market from September 15 in its 32 GB configuration (champagne or titanium gray) for a price of 650 euros. The next step will be the 64 GB configuration (gold or pink) with a price of 700 euros.At this time, no pricing or release date has been revealed for the Force Touch configuration. And precisely this is the point that leaves us the most doubts about the phone, since it is a really interesting technology but we do not know if it will finally reach Spain.
