Lenovo ThinkPad X280, lightweight notebook with Intel 8th generation processor

Lenovo today unveiled the nine computers that it will bring to CES in Las Vegas this year. The manufacturer will update the ThinkPad X, T and L series this year with slimmer designs and new processors. Among all of them perhaps the most interesting models are the ThinkPad X380 Yoga and the ThinkPad X280 . The latter is a very light laptop, weighing in at just 1.16 kg and 17.8 millimeters thick. It also includes 8th generation Intel Core processors, up to 16GB of RAM and an SSD hard drive for speed. The new Lenovo ThinkPad X280 could be available from this month with a price (not confirmed) that will start from 1,000 euros.

Lenovo's ThinkPad line has been one of the most widely used by businesses for many years. Among them we could highlight the Lenovo ThinkPad X270, a computer with contained weight and great autonomy. A computer conceived for the professional market, but that required a new design. Therefore, this year will reach the new Lenovo ThinkPad X280, a team that maintains the same essence as its predecessor, but improvement in design and features .

Lightweight design and powerful interior

The first thing that stands out about the new team is its design. Lenovo has revamped the previous model for a thinner and lighter notebook. The Lenovo ThinkPad X280 is 17.4 millimeters thick, compared to 20.3 millimeters for its predecessor. On the other hand, the new model has  a weight of 1.16 kg , compared to 1.3 kg of the previous model.

Otherwise, we have a very similar design to its predecessor. It has a screen 12.5 inch Full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels . The graphics section is handled by an integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 GPU, sufficient for normal computer use.

Inside the Lenovo ThinkPad X280 we will have the new 8th generation Intel Core processors . Accompanying these processors we will have up to 16 GB of DDR4 RAM at 2133 MHz . And the internal storage will be handled by an SSD of up to 1 TB , depending on the model.

Also, as usual for Lenovo computers, the ThinkPad X280 will come with some extras. The fingerprint reader will be joined by enhanced sound with  Dolby Advance Audio .

And in terms of connectivity, we will have two USB 3.0 ports, a Thunderbolt 3 port, an HDMI port and a 3.5 mm jack connector for headphones.
