Yamaha has taken advantage of the IFA 2017 celebration to present a new stereo receiver. It's called the Yamaha R-N303D and it offers great sound quality and state-of-the-art connectivity . A receiver that has a classic design, but is capable of playing through music streaming services. It even supports high resolution audio files over the local network.
On the other hand, the Yamaha R-N303D integrates MusicCast, with which the new receiver becomes part of the Yamaha multiroom environment . This will allow us to connect some speakers or sound bars from the company, in addition to controlling it from the mobile application. The Yamaha R-N303D will go on sale this month with a price of 400 euros.

Classic design
Yamaha often follows a very personal design style. All the company's equipment has a vintage design, very similar to that of the old HiFi equipment. The Yamaha R-N303D is no exception. The receiver is available in sober black or elegant silver . Both are offered in a brushed aluminum finish on the front.
On the front left we have the power button and the headphone jack. Also buttons to select speakers. On the right side we have two wheels, one for volume and the other for selection. On the front we have the usual buttons for HiFi equipment . With them we can regulate the bass, change input, change station, etc.
Also in the central part we have a small information screen . The legs of the equipment are round and large, as is usual in this type of equipment. In both models they are black.
In the back we have connection for two pairs of stereo speakers . Also several analog and two digital inputs, one optical and one coaxial. The set of connections is completed by the RJ45 input for connection to the network and a connection for the antenna.
Optimized circuits and quality components
Yamaha places the new R-N303D receiver in the input range. However, this does not prevent the device from taking advantage of all the experience of the brand's engineers. The developers have used their years of experience to design optimized HiFi circuits .
For example, the Yamaha R-N303D separates the analog and digital sections , thus avoiding interference between the two. The circuit boasts of low impedance and remarkably short signal paths. As a result we obtain a clean and vibrant sound.
On the other hand, the Yamaha R-N303D includes a network module developed to guarantee good sound quality, either via cable or WiFi . It also includes a very accurate low-jitter clock, which ensures flawless playback of high-resolution files.
The rest of the components of the Yamaha R-N303D have also been inherited from high-end devices. We have a Burr-Brown DAC capable of playing 192 kHz / 24 bit audio . Furthermore, the company has carefully selected only capacitors and resistors that have impeccable sonic qualities.
Complete wired and wireless connectivity
Despite being aimed at the most audiophile users, this receiver also has the most complete network functions. On the one hand we have Apple's AirPlay system , with which we can transmit music wirelessly from any Mac, iPhone or iPad.
On the other hand, we also have the possibility of playing through the network connection from a PC or NAS, both with cable and wirelessly. In both, the Yamaha R-N303D supports high-resolution playback of DSD 5.6 MHz, AIFF / FLAC / WAV with 192 kHz / 24-bit and Apple Lossless with 96 kHz / 24-bit .
To this we must add the compatibility with streaming music services such as Spotify, Napster, Deezer, Juke, Tidal and Qobuz . With Tidal and, soon with Qobuz, we will be able to enjoy high-quality audio through streaming. That is, we will have the same quality as if we listened to the song directly on CD. On the other hand, wireless playback from mobile devices via Bluetooth is also possible.
In addition, the Yamaha R-N303D includes a built-in DAB + receiver capable of receiving digital radio with exceptionally high audio quality . Of course it also has an FM tuner for analog radio.
Finally we should know that the Yamaha R-N303D is part of the Yamaha MusicCast family . With Yamaha MusicCast all sources connected to the receiver will be available to all other elements on the network, from receivers and sound bars to speakers. We can even control the entire system through the Yamaha MusicCast application.

The Yamaha R-N303D stereo receiver will be available on the market this month in black or silver with a price of 400 euros . As we said, it is a receiver that for price we could place in the low range, but that includes very interesting features.
