1. High-quality screen with FreeSync technology

There is nothing better than playing without losing the smallest detail of what is happening. To do this, Lenovo has manufactured the Lenovo Legion Y730 in two different screen sizes. On the one hand, it will be possible to opt for a 15.6-inch configuration, the usual one in a multimedia notebook. Another option will be to choose a larger panel, 17.3 inches. This second setup may be better if you don't plan to move your equipment a lot from one location to another. In both cases, the resolution of the panel is Full HD of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.

In addition, both configurations have FreeSync technology. This translates into an improvement in the problems of tearing or horizontal stripes, which usually appear when there is a bad synchronization between the panel and the graphic. On the other hand, the 144Hz refresh rate brings with it smoother images at the moment of the game, even though we are in the middle of scenes with a lot of action like in racing games. The maximum brightness level in the two screen sizes is located at 300 nits, a figure that is not bad at all.

2. Aluminum design with good ventilation

The Lenovo Legion Y730 is built in aluminum and boasts a very gamer design with some highlights. For example, unlike traditional computers, the screen does not open on the edge of the laptop but a little earlier. In this way, a gap of two or three centimeters is left free to create a place that places most of the computer's connectors at the front, behind the panel. The reason for this is to allow more freedom to the sides and that there is a hole to introduce ventilation grilles on both sides. And this is precisely one of the great keys of the Legion Y730, its way of spreading the heat. In addition, these grilles glow in the dark and light up, giving it a very futuristic look.

It's not the only thing that glitters, this model also features a 16 million color RGB backlit keyboard. We can choose both the color we want for the different areas of the keys, as well as the possibility of creating different lighting effects to give the laptop a more personal touch. In terms of weight, with a 15.6-inch screen the Lenovo Legion Y730 weighs 2.2 kilos. With the 17.3-inch panel this goes up to 2.8 kilos.

3. Performance and power in equal measure

Inside the Lenovo Legion Y730 there is room for 8th generation Intel Core processors. The most basic configuration is powered by an Intel Core i5-8300H SoC, a quad core running at a power of 2.4 GHz (a speed that can be taken up to 4 GHz). For its part, the most powerful configuration offers an Intel Core i7-8750H . In this case, a 2.2 GHz six-core, whose speed can go up to 4.1 GHz at a time when there is a need for higher performance.

Any of these configurations is accompanied by a RAM memory of up to 32 GB. It has also been manufactured with a configuration with 8 GB of Corsair memory with the option of overclocking up to 16 GB. In terms of graphics, the Legion Y730 has an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti with 4 GB of dedicated memory. This model is inferior to the GeForce GTX 1060. However, it will be more than enough to enjoy the latest games without worrying about performance problems. In addition, it boasts the Pascal architecture, which provides better performance and is designed for virtual reality.

4. Good set of connections

The Lenovo Legion Y730 has an extensive set of connections and ports. We found two USB 3.1 ports, an HDMI port, a mini DisplayPort or an Ethernet port to connect the laptop via cable. If we look at its sides, this model also has a headphone slot, a USB Type-C port and another USB 3.1 port.

As for wireless connections, the most notable thing is the compatibility with the WiFi AC protocol. With this protocol we can connect to both the 2.4 GHz bandwidth and the 5 GHz bandwidth.

For this, it has Dolby Atmos technology. You will find out if the bad guys are coming for you, or how to drift your racing car with a good definition.
