Iomega Screenplay MX are multimedia hard drives capable of handling high definition content . They are intended to cover all the needs of digital entertainment at home; all you need is a TV and the corresponding cables. They are available with two hard drive capacities : 2TB or 1TB . On the front they have a USB 2.0 port , which is used to connect an external hard drive or a memory key, loaded with photos, movies or songs.
It can read audio in MP3 , WAV, WMA, OGG, AAC, PCM, M4A and Dolby Digital (AC3), as well as playlists that are PLS, M3U or WPL. Photos must be in JPEG, BMP, GIF, TIF, or PNG format. With regard to the compatibility of playback video , it supports H264, WMV, RMVB, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, DivX HD and Xvid . Subtitles can be SRT, SSA, SUB, SMI, MKS, and TXT.
These multimedia hard drives from Iomega also have a digital video output HDMI to enjoy images on a Full HD TV , plus an output coaxial digital audio . For the rest of the televisions, the analog video outputs can be used; in fact, it has a component video output and an A / V output. All functions are controlled from the remote control.
The user interface consists of interactive menus for navigating folders, creating playlists or selecting subtitles, among other functions. In order to carry out file upload tasks, they can be connected via USB to a PC with Windows XP, vista, or Windows 7. However, in order to be used with a Mac, they must be reformatted.
