Sometimes the battery dies at the most inconvenient time and in the most unexpected place. For example, you may be waiting for a very important call when you are traveling. Why the designers of the Samsung Galaxy S5 have included a mode ultra power saving on the smartphone . So you won't have to worry about running out of battery when you need it most. In ultra power saving mode, with only ten percent battery power, the smartphone can stillendure twenty-four hours on standby . The functions are limited , but the mobile is still on.
There are differences between this ultra-save mode and the standard power-save mode . The standard tends to reduce power consumption by lowering screen brightness and slightly lowering processor performance. However, it does not deactivate applications, or turn off network connections, as it happens with the ultra savings. Therefore, the standard economy mode achieves very little prolongation of the battery life. The saving mode ultra is more ambitious. In the first place, the use of applications is limited to the basic ones , although they cannot be more than six. By default, telephone, messaging and Internet are activated. You can choose three other between alarm, memo, voice recorder, calculator and downloaded applications.
Samsung advises that not all downloaded applications are eligible for selection, because they must meet the criteria of this ultra-saving mode in terms of their energy consumption. In addition, this mode works with a simplified application launcher with a simplified user interface , which shows a graph with the percentage of battery charge remaining and the remaining standby time. The Super AMOLED screen goes black and white to minimize power consumption, and the processor speed is also reduced. Also, in ultra saving mode Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS are turned off , and the data connection is only availablewhile the screen is on . Of course, you can still receive calls and short messages ( SMS ).
Mode ultra power saving can be activated from the Quick Settings panel touching Energy saving . You can also do it from the Applications screen, tapping Settings> Energy Saver> ultrahorro Power Mode , and then drag the switch ultrahorro Power Mode to the right. To add an application to the simplified home screen, tap on the icon with the plus sign (+) and select the desired one. To remove an application from that screen, touch Delete and then choose the application through the minus icon (-) and press OK. Mode ultra power saving can be turned off easily by tapping Off ultrahorro power mode .
