HP has just introduced a new computer speaker system . It's the HP 2.1 Compact Speaker System . It consists of two speakers plus a subwoofer , and offers a total power output of 12 watts , of which 5 W correspond to the subwoofer. It is a suitable solution so as not to give up surround sound, even if there is very little free space in the room where the computer is installed.
A remote control , attached to the subwoofer by a cable, allows you to control the volume, apart from turning the equipment on and off. It can work with laptops but also with desktop models . The system receives sound through the headphone or line output of the computer. It is necessary to power the subwoofer through an electrical outlet.
On the remote control there is a minijack headphone output (3.5 mm). When the user plugs in the headphones, the sound from the speakers is muted; then you will need to raise and lower the volume from the computer panel. The front speakers have a 3-inch cone , while the subwoofer has a 5-inch diameter .
The signal-to-noise ratio of this 2.1 speaker system reaches 59 decibels . The subwoofer measures 19.3 by 15.1 by 13.2 centimeters, and the dimensions of the satellite speakers are 6.8 by 6.4 and 7.8 centimeters. The HP 2.1 Compact Speaker System (model HP BR386AA) is now available at a retail price of 39 euros .
