Of the two mobiles that the Korean LG has presented for this summer, the LG GW520 and the GT505 , the latter is, in some way, the older brother in terms of performance.
Equipped with a 3-inch touch screen, a five-megapixel camera and full Internet connectivity via HSDPA , the LG GT505 is, like its little brother. Despite the above, a phone designed for social networks that incorporates a few high-level functions .
Exteriors and screen
On the outside, the LG GT505 is an all-screen touch mobile . A terminal that follows the line marked in the post-iPhone era: here what matters is that the screen shines, that it works and that it carries a good interactive menu . In the front stand hanging buttons, hook and menu under a generous touch screen 3 inches with resolution 240 x 400 pixels .
On the sides we find the usual in full terminals: camera buttons, microSD card slot up to 8 Gb, volume and microUSB input . The GT505 has dimensions of 56 x 107 x 12 millimeters and a weight of 98 grams . The finish of the phone is brushed metal and is only available in black .
Conected to internet
Like the lightest GW520, the GT505 is a mobile oriented to the Internet and, specifically, to social networks . Connectivity HSDPA 3.6Mb / s gives agility enough to deal with email, browsing or messaging varied.
In this sense, the terminal supports Push email, corporate email and integrates direct access to the main social networks such as Myspace or Facebook . LG has incorporated an application, more curious than anything else, called Livesquare . It is a home screen that shows a kind of square full of tiny people who represent our contacts and who are displaying text balloons in real time as our contacts send us an SMS, update their status on Facebook or start a chat on Messenger , among other actions. A fun way, in short, to have quick access to our most common communication channels .
Apart from HSDPA, the LG GT505 has Wi-Fi 802.11b / g and Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP profile to connect to stereo audio equipment.
Camera and navigation
The integrated camera in the LG GT505 reaches 5 megapixels of resolution with autofocus and LED flash . It is also able to record video and adds a secondary VGA camera for video conferencing on the front.
The GT505 also has GPS with A-GPS support. LG includes here a software called Wisepilot that allows 2D or 3D navigation with voice prompts . Of course, the Wisepilot license that comes standard is only valid for 30 days, after which you have to contract the service.
The terminal carries the Symbian operating system , however it is compatible with office files and Active Sync . Regarding audio and video, the GT505 is capable of displaying videos in MPG4 and sound in MP3 , supported by an FM Radio tuner . At the moment, LG has not offered data on the type of batteries or their duration. Available since July, the LG GT505 has not reached the free market and is sold with Vodafone from 20 euros with contract portability , from 250 points and 120 euros with a contract and from 30 euros for migrations.
LG's experience with touch phones is noticeable in this terminal. It is simple to use, fast thanks to its Symbian operating system and not expensive to offer Internet in HSDPA, all the features of a smartphone and is well equipped as a multimedia mobile. Also it has a camera of five megapixels .
It can improve
For some, the design of these touch terminals is becoming too simple . It is true that turned off and, at a distance, they all seem the same.
