We are at the Huawei presentation in the city of Barcelona and the Chinese company has just launched the Huawei Mate X , the long-awaited flexible mobile phone that was rumored since the Mobile World Congress last year. It does so with a design quite different from the one we saw last week with the Samsung Galaxy Fold. The concept of this terminal is based on a single folding screen that bends to form the "mobile part" made up of two halves. The frames of the Mate X also differ greatly from those of the Galaxy Fold, with a better use of the front surface. Will these be the only differences with the South Korean brand's mobile? Sleek design and single screen to rule them all
The screen of the Huawei Mate X and its design are surely the main differentiating aspects with respect to the Samsung Galaxy Fold recently presented.
The terminal consists of an 8-inch AMOLED screen in tablet format that folds to give rise to two screens in mobile format of 6.6 and 6.38 inches with resolutions of 2,480 x 2,200, 2,480 x 1,148 and 2,480 x 892 pixels. Precisely thanks to the OLED screen, Huawei has drawn a black frame in the middle of the screen to simulate the frame of the smartphone that is activated when folding the mobile. All this is embedded in a body made of metal and a material similar to synthetic leather much thinner than that of a conventional tablet that protects its screen. Specifically, 5.4 millimeters thick with the tablet unfolded and only 11 millimeters with the tablet closed.

Continuing with the flexible mobile software, Huawei has adapted the entire system interface to the hybrid tablet / smartphone mode to accommodate applications in both tablet and mobile mode. We can use up to two applications at the same time in leveling and vertical. In this regard, it lags behind Samsung with respect to the company's App Continuity system.
State-of-the-art hardware with the addition of 5G and the world's fastest charging
The technical specifications of the Huawei Mate X are not a surprise either. Same processor as the Huawei Mate 20 and 20 Pro ; specifically the Kirin 980. The difference with the rest of the versions that make it up is that it has a 5G modem called Balong 5000 compatible with the latest 5G networks. For the rest, the terminal comes loaded with the latest of the latest, 8 GB of RAM along with 512 GB of internal storage is what makes up the innards of the Mate X. The same rear cameras as the Huawei Mate 20 Pro
Huawei has not skimped on cameras with the Huawei Mate X. In summary, we find three cameras that in the absence of official confirmation will be the same as those of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. Three RGB, wide-angle and telephoto sensors signed by Leica is what that we find in the Mate X. Specifically, 40, 20 and 8 megapixels with focal apertures f / 1.8, f / 2.2 and f / 2.4 . Regarding the front camera, we do not find any sensor, the terminal takes advantage of the three rear cameras in phone mode to take pictures, with all the advantages that this entails.
Price and availability of the Huawei Mate X
Like Samsung, Huawei has given some details about the price and availability of the terminal. According to the company, we can buy the mobile from the second half of the year for a price that starts at 2,299 euros . In this regard, the Mate X is about 320 euros more expensive than the Galaxy Fold presented by Samsung.
