KAZAM Trooper 450

Kazam Trooper 450

There is still a week left until the Mobile World Congress begins and some manufacturers have already started to advance their launches. The European company Kazam has announced the arrival of a new range of smartphones, among which is the Kazam Trooper 450. Following the company's line, this model offers a simple and balanced technical profile, which combines with a very reasonable price . It comes standard with Android 4.4 KitKat and has features such as a 5-inch screen, a 5-megapixel camera or a Mediatek quad-core processor. We see all the details of the new Kazam Trooper 450.

Display and layout

Wide screens have been democratized and now we can find them on any computer, regardless of whether it is high-end or is part of the entry-level range such as the  Kazam Trooper 450. Its screen measures five inches , a size that has been established as the standard for many manufacturers. It offers a good visual experience without sacrificing the functionality offered by a more manageable device. The resolution is FWVGA , or what is the same, 854 x 480 pixels and concentrates 196 dots per inch. The panel technology is IPS , so it will offer bright images and good viewing at an angle.

Kazam has opted for a classic design, with a rectangular shape with slightly rounded corners. The navigation buttons are capacitive and are not integrated into the screen as in most Android phones, this makes their design a bit longer. The thickness is 9.3 mm and weighs 149 grams , again figures balanced to a terminal of this type. The back cover is made of plastic and can be removed to change the battery and access the SIM and MicroSD card slots . It is only available in black with the housing in a matte finish.

Camera and multimedia

The Kazam Trooper 450 integrates a rear camera with a five-megapixel resolution sensor . The maximum size of the images will be 2,592 x 1,944 pixels, more than enough to reproduce them on large screens or even print them in an intermediate format. It is accompanied by an LED flash , records videos in HD720p resolution (25 frames per second) and has automatic focus , which we can adjust by tapping on the screen. It also comes with other basic functions such as 4x digital zoom , panoramic photos, geo-tagging or image editor . The front camera has only0.3 megapixels of resolution, so if we want to take a selfie it will be better to use the rear camera.

It comes with a built-in player that is capable of playing the most common video and audio formats . It also has an FM radio, speaker, headphones and allows you to record or dictate voice.

Power, memory and operating system

The  Kazam Trooper 450 comes equipped with a Mediatek processor , a common brand in many entry-level and mid-range smartphones. The chip in question is the MT6582M , a quad-core with ARM Cortex A7 architecture that runs at 1.3 Ghz clock speed. It is accompanied by a Mali-400MP2 graphics processor or GPU and the RAM memory is only 512 Mb. It is a fairly limited configuration, but it has the advantage that Android 4.4 KitKat is optimized for basic smartphones - although we should not expect performance especially remarkable. The internal memory of the Kazam Trooper 450 is 4 Gb, of which 2.3 Gb will remain free according to Kazam's official data . With this limited space, it will be essential to use a MicroSD memory card (up to 32 Gb).

As we have already anticipated, the  Kazam Trooper 450 comes standard with Android 4.4 KitKat and at the moment there are no clues about a possible update to Android 5.0 Lollipop. It comes with the entire Google service package installed as standard, which includes applications such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive or Google Contacts. All we have to do is add our Google account and we will have all the content synchronized.

Connectivity and autonomy

The  Kazam Trooper 450 maintains simplicity even in the connections, where we find the basic standards to be able to surf the Internet, share files, synchronize accessories or use location services. It connects to 3G mobile networks , through which it can reach a maximum download speed of 21 Mbps . It also has a WiFi wireless port and allows you to create a WiFi zone to connect other devices, as if it were a portable modem. The rest of the connections include GPS antenna , Bluetooth 4.0, MicroUSB and headphone jack .

As we advance, the battery of the Kazam Trooper 450 is removable . It has 2,000 milliamperes of capacity and official data indicate that it can be on for 160 hours in standby mode , while the talk time remains at 400 minutes , or what is the same, six and a half hours.

Availability and opinions

The Kazam Trooper 450 can already be obtained through Movistar in different modalities . The terminal costs 90 euros in free format , but you can get it for less by hiring one of the rates offered by this operator.

Kazam continues to bet on the formula of benefits at an affordable price, focusing especially on the latter. For 90 euros, we can take a mobile with a five-inch screen, which is not bad. Its technical profile is quite limited, but at the same time balanced . The scarce memory, both internal and RAM , is its most pronounced lack.
