The mid-range of Android is really saturated with terminals. We have hundreds of models to choose from. Today we wanted to put two of the most important novelties in this range face to face. Two Chinese terminals offering us a screen of 5.2 inches , a sleek design, a camera of 13 megapixel , processor eight cores and the latest version of Android . And all this at an affordable price. Today we compare the ZTE Blade V7 with the Huawei P9 Lite .
Design and display
At the design level, we find great differences between these two terminals. Perhaps the most remarkable is the material used for its manufacture. The ZTE Blade V7 uses metal on both the sides and the back . In addition, glass in 2.5D format has been used on the front , that is, slightly curved at the edges. It also highlights its unique circular button, which is used to return to the main screen, in true iPhone style . The terminal measures remain at 146 x 72.5 x 7.5 mm . The ZTE Blade V7 bets on two different configurations, one in metallic gray and the other in gold .
Its rival, the Huawei P9 Lite , offers a design that combines metal in the frames together with a plastic back . Still, it is made with a one-piece body, which gives it an extra point of robustness. Admittedly, the company has done a good job with the rear, since at first glance it gives the whole hit, it looks like metal. Precisely on the back we have the fingerprint reader located , just below the camera. The full dimensions of the Huawei P9 Lite stand at 146.8 x 72.6 x 7.5 millimeters, along with a weight of 147 grams. The new terminal of the Chinese company is available in three colors: white, black and gold .
As for the screen, both terminals mounted screen 5.2 inches and have a resolution Full HD 1,920 x 1,080 pixels . The screen density is 424 dots per inch . Both terminals try to minimize the side frames, but the ZTE Blade V7 stands out in this regard thanks to the use of the 2.5D curved glass . While it is true that these screens do not reach the Quad HD resolution that some high-end terminals incorporate, they do match in resolution to other terminals that play in a higher division, such as the Huawei P9 . As we have commented on more than one occasion, the Full HD resolution it is enough for the usual use of the terminal, for games and even for multimedia use.
Camera and multimedia
Although we are not facing two terminals that mount reference cameras, we will find good photographic sets in the two smartphones that we face. The ZTE Blade V7 mounts a 13-megapixel main lens with PDAF phase detection autofocus capable of centering scenes in just 0.3 seconds. It also integrates a dual-tone flash that is used to achieve more natural colors when we take our photos at night. The camera is capable of recording video in high resolution Full HD . As for the front camera, this terminal opts for a resolution of 5 megapixels. Although it does not incorporate a flash as such, we do have an option to take advantage of the maximum brightness of the screen as a makeshift flash.
The Huawei P9 Lite incorporates a camera of 13 megapixel sensor CMOS IMX214 of Sony . It has f / 2.0 aperture and also with LED Flash . As we have front camera with a sensor resolution of 8 megapixels and aperture f / 2.0 . This camera incorporates a lens for wide - angle 27 mm for better selfies group.
Regarding the multimedia section, it is worth noting that the Huawei P9 Lite has a HISILICON Hi6402 audio DSP, 9 V intelligent PA , with an integrated speaker design, which produces a sound quality superior to that of other smartphones of the same category.
Power, memory and operating system
To rule all this hardware, both companies have gone for eight-core processors , but in quite different configurations. The ZTE Blade V7 mounts an eight-core MediaTek MT6753 chipset clocked at 1.3 GHz per core . The graphic section is handled by a Mali T720MP3 GPU . This set is accompanied by 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. We can expand this capacity using a microSD card of up to 128 GB .
The other terminal in this contest, the Huawei P9 Lite , mounts an eight-core processor manufactured by Huawei . The Kirin 650 offers a speed of 2 GHz in four of its cores and 1.7 GHz in the other four . The graphics is handled by a Mali T830 GPU . This set is accompanied by 3 GB of RAM . The internal storage memory is the usual 16 GB that almost all terminals in this range incorporate, but it is easily expandable using a microSD card of up to 128 GB .
As expected, both terminals hit the market with the latest version of Android available, Android 6.0 Marshmallow .
Autonomy and connectivity
ZTE maintains a fairly common connection profile on the Blade V7 . The terminal is compatible with 3G and 4G mobile networks , to enjoy higher speed from anywhere, but it also has a WiFi connection . You cannot miss the Bluetooth 4.0, the GPS antenna with a-GPS, the WiFi Hotspot system or the usual physical connections ( MicroUSB and headphone minijack ). In addition, the ZTE Blade V7 incorporates the WiFi Direct function , which allows the transfer of files through devices that are connected to the same WiFi network. The terminal supportsDual SIM .
Regarding connectivity, the Huawei P9 Lite is compatible with 4G networks and incorporates WiFi 802.11b / g / n and WiFi Direct . GPS and NFC connectivity cannot be missing .
If we talk about autonomy, we must emphasize that the Huawei terminal offers a battery with a greater capacity. While the ZTE Blade V7 mounts a 2,700 milliamp battery, the battery included in the Huawei P9 Lite is 3,000 milliamps , an amount on the same level as higher-end terminals. So, on paper, the Huawei terminal should give us greater autonomy than the ZTE terminal .
Conclusions
Today we are comparing two terminals that offer very similar characteristics, although with some differences. The ZTE Blade V7 offers us a fully metal body , while the Huawei P9 Lite combines metal frames with a plastic back. However, Huawei's terminal incorporates a fingerprint reader , which the ZTE does not have. Where we will see practically no difference is on the screen, since both terminals mount a 5.2-inch panel with Full HD resolution .
The camera also offers similar characteristics on both terminals. Both sensors mounted with a resolution of 13 megapixels for the main camera. In the front chamber Huawei has put more effort and has provided the P9 Lite a large angle sensor 8 megapixels , compared with 5 - megapixel of the ZTE Blade V7 .
If what we are looking for is raw power, perhaps the clearest choice would be the Huawei . The ZTE Blade V7 mounts an eight-core processor along with 2 GB of RAM . This processor runs at 1.3 GHz . Although it is a powerful enough set to move almost any application, the Huawei P9 Lite offers a superior speed. The Huawei terminal mounts a company chip that also offers eight cores , four working at 2 GHz and the other four at 1.7 GHz . In addition, the Huawei terminalIt also surpasses the ZTE terminal in RAM .
This increase in power requires more energy, so Huawei's terminal mounts a larger battery than its rival. The Huawei P9 Lite offers 3,000 milliamps compared to 2,700 milliamps for the ZTE Blade V7 . Finally we will talk about the price. The ZTE Blade V7 does not yet have an official price, but if we are based on the price of its predecessor, it would be around 200-250 euros . The Huawei P9 Lite is priced at 330 euros .
