ABEO Pro 283CGH, we have tested it

The  ABEO Pro 283CGH is a carbon tripod designed for both still and video cameras, including both conventional cameras and professional cameras with large lenses. This tripod is from the Taiwanese company  Vanguard , and in the upper part it incorporates a fully adjustable head -with a control or control lever included- that allows you to control the rotation, inclination and position of the camera. The ABEO Pro 283CGH is available in Spain for a price of between 400 and 500 euros .

We have had the opportunity to test the ABEO Pro 283CGH , and this time we are going to discover all the functions that this tripod hides under its appearance.

Design

The  ABEO Pro 283CGH is a tripod that comes with three adjustable legs. The height of the tripod while folding is 765 mm , and then be extended by six independent adjustable fasteners (two on each leg) to a maximum height of  1715 mm . The diameter of each of the legs is 28 mm . The total weight of the tripod, as it comes standard, is around three kilograms .

If we begin to analyze the design of the ABEO Pro 283CGH from the top, first with what we found is the basis on which the camera is placed on top of the tripod . This base, according to Vanguard , is capable of supporting cameras up to a maximum of eight kilograms . The camera is placed on this base by means of the traditional system of a nut that fits inside the tripod support that practically all cameras have at the bottom.

If we keep going down, the next thing that catches our attention is the control knob . It turns out that the  ABEO Pro 283CGH incorporates a knob through which it is possible to adjust the position of the camera, even if all the fasteners of the moving parts are tight. This control works by means of a trigger system that, at the moment in which we press it, allows us to adjust the position of the adjustable base of the camera. In addition, this remote also includes a button that allows you to take pictures with the camera .

And how is it possible to take pictures through the camera using a button on the tripod? The  ABEO Pro 283CGH incorporates a cable that connects at one end to an input located under the remote control and at the other end to the camera itself. This allows the user to control the tripod and take pictures at the same time, which is especially useful when shooting in motion.

We continue to analyze the design of the  ABEO Pro 283CGH down , and the next thing we can see is the foundation on which theABEO Pro 283CGH, we have tested it

I control like all the adjustable platform of the camera. On this base, it should be noted that the central body can also be raised upwards, adding a few additional centimeters of height without having to modify the height of the tripod itself. Later, in the " Operation " section, we will learn more about this part of the tripod.

The three legs of the tripod have a separate termination that comes standard with three plastic accessories in the form of flat legs that can be supported on almost any surface. But, in addition to that, these three accessories can be removed to use the  ABEO Pro 283CGH in other areas, as we will see in the next section.

Special mention should be made of the fact that the  ABEO Pro 283CGH also incorporates several bubble levels (three, specifically) that allow to know at all times the inclination that is being applied to each base.

Functioning

Although in the " Design " section we have mentioned some of the functions of the  ABEO Pro 283CGH , in this section we will see that this tripod hides even more secrets. First we will start talking about the adjustable base of the camera , which is precisely where most of the closures that allow you to regulate the position of the camera are located. All the closures that we are going to talk about are independent of each other, so that even if we regulate one, the others will remain in the same place.

If we start by analyzing this base from above, the first thing we will find is that the camera support includes a closure that allows the support to be moved slightly back and forth . This allows us to correct the position of the camera without having to move the tripod from its place. Further down, the next thing we come across is that the camera mount can also be rotated 360 degrees . This support is completely adjustable, and has all the angles marked in such a way that at any time it is possible to know the angle of rotation that is being applied to the camera.

Below these two adjustable bases we can see that the remote appears , which is attached precisely to the supports that we are mentioning. The control allows the camera support to be oriented completely freely (up, down, left or right) , without limitations of any kind, since it works on a free-moving ball. In fact, even the position of the knob can be adjusted.

But the positions that can be applied to the camera do not end there. The control is placed on another  adjustable base that also includes the marked angles and that allows the camera to be  rotated 360 degrees . This base, like all the previous ones, incorporates a closure that allows regulating the force to be applied to its position (that is, we can choose if we want the base to be easily rotated or if we want it to be completely fixed).

Leaving aside the upper part of the  ABEO Pro 283CGH , it is also interesting that we take a look at its central part . In this part there is an adjustable closure that not only allows the height of the chamber to be slightly increased through the main column -without modifying the position of the legs-, but also allows this column to be completely extracted to place it with a completely different inclination .

This means you can place the camera so that it is hung on one side of the tripod , or we can place the camera almost at the level of the floor to take a shot from below. Either way, whatever position we want to place the camera in, the remote will remain fully functional and will continue to allow us to move the camera in the direction we need.

Finally, we have the legs of the  ABEO Pro 283CGH . We are talking about three legs that are regulated completely independently, both in position and in height. They have two height levels (ie two latches each for adjusting the height), and its base incorporates a removable terminations that allow placing the tripod almost any terrain. If we are going to use it on firm ground, we can use the rubber finishes; On the other hand, if we are going to use it in the snow, we can remove these finishes to nail it to the ground.

accessories

The  ABEO Pro 283CGH incorporates a number of accessories in its box. First of all, this tripod comes with a backpack (or cover) that protects the accessory from any blow and that, in addition, significantly facilitates its transport. It also includes the cables needed to connect the camera to the trigger command , all necessary to regulate the tripod tools , some instructions and if we consider it as an accessory, three - legged rubber that can be removed if you needed place the tripod on different terrain.

Price and conclusions

The ABEO Pro 283CGH is available today in Spain for a price of between 400 and 500 euros . Considering this price, we are talking about a tripod mainly oriented towards video recordings and professional photography . In short, it is a tripod that can be very useful for professionals in the multimedia sector , since it adapts to practically any situation and any requirement.

And if what we are looking for is a more affordable tripod, the Vanguard company itself has other products with more adjusted prices such as the  Vanguard Alta Pro 263AT , a tripod that can be purchased for a price of between 100 and 200 euros .
