A  compact size to fit in any pocket and an overwhelming 30x zoom , is what the new camera that Panasonic has just introduced and belongs to its TZ range of compact superzoom offers. The  Panasonic Lumix TZ80 is an ideal camera to accompany us on trips and excursions, also offering a light and attractive design. Apart from the zoom, this new Lumix incorporates the latest advances of the brand in video resolution, that is, it offers 4K recording , the possibility of capturing eight megapixel photos from 4K videos and also incorporates the new Post Focus functionto change the focus of images after they have been taken. The new Lumix TZ80 arrives to replace the TZ70 , updating its technical characteristics, especially video level, since it incorporates 4K resolution and the new technologies that Panasonic has developed from it, as we will see later. Weighing in at 300 grams, the new TZ80 is a sleekly designed compact camera, available in black or a combination of black and silver. The superzoom lens is accompanied by a practical manual control ring that we can assign to different shooting parameters such as aperture or shutter speed. At the rear, the lcd touch monitorIt is three inches in size and has a resolution of 1,040,000 dots . Most amateur photographers will also be glad to have an electronic viewfinder of 0.2 inches and 1,166,000 dot resolution that will be helpful for scenes in sunny days, but also to keep the feeling of taking photos in traditional style.


The main protagonist of the Lumix TZ80 is none other than the lens signed by Leica and which offers a focal length of the equivalent of 24-720 millimeters in the traditional 35 millimeter frame format. In practice, this data translates into a 30x zoom , which will allow us a great number of possibilities when it comes to isolating subjects or taking photos of nature or capturing scenes that are at a great distance. To take full advantage of this large focal range, the new Lumix maintains the five-axis stabilization system that was already equipped with the previous model and that will help us obtain sharper photos and videos with less shake. The MOS sensorhigh sensitivity has a size of 1 / 2.3 inch and a resolution of 18 megapixels , surpassing the somewhat outdated twelve megapixel TZ70 . Once we have the desired photo, the built-in WiFi port will allow us to send it to a smartphone or tablet to share it on social networks or to simply view them on a larger screen.

One of the highlights of the TZ80 is undoubtedly 4K video recording . Four times more resolution than standard Full HD , the 4K we can record video in high quality with a size of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels at 25 frames per second  format MP4 , but we can also go down to Full HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) in AVCHD format at 50 fps . The 4K allows the TZ80 offer some of the latest advances that Panasonic is incorporating into his chambers, and functionPhoto 4K that allows you to extract an eight megapixel photo from a 4K video , or Post Focus mode to focus the photos after they have been taken. Panasonic has not yet confirmed the availability or price of the new Lumix TZ80 , but to get an idea, the TZ70 had an approximate RRP of 400 euros , so it is to be expected that the new TZ will have a slightly higher price.
