This Christmas the stores are going to be filled with beautiful and powerful mobiles at a good price. Like the Weimei WePlus 3, a new exponent of smartphones with an infinite screen. This phone sports a large six-inch screen, ideal for comfortable browsing or watching YouTube videos. And all this without making the mobile too big, thanks to the fact that the side frames are almost non-existent and the lower and upper frame have been greatly reduced.
But the WePlus 3 is about more than design. This mobile stands out, above all, for the presence of four cameras . Two of them in the back and two in the front. The most interesting thing is its powerful commitment to selfies. And in its front region we found a target of 20 megapixels with a 6 megapixels . One of them is wide-angle, to be able to take group photos without leaving anyone out. In addition to the option to create bokeh (blur) effects so popular in recent times.
The Weimei WePlus 3 arrives on time for the Christmas campaign with an official price of 329 euros. However, Weimei has rolled out a temporary promotion that will allow you to get the smartphone for 270 euros. This is our analysis of the equipment unraveling its main characteristics.

Two cameras better than one, four cameras better than two
We are in the age of the double camera, there is no doubt. Weimei did not want to be less and has joined this trend with the successor of the Weimei WePlus 2. But not in any way. The Spanish company has decided to bet on double. Two cameras on the front, and two cameras on the back. The most curious thing about the case is that the cameras with the highest resolution are at the front, so the firm's strong commitment to selfies is evident.
It is not the first to bet on this format, although it has not yet spread almost among the main manufacturers (time to time). In any case, the WePlus 3 brings selfies in a big way with a combination of a 20-megapixel lens (with Sony invoice) and another 6-megapixel (with Omnivision invoice) . The first with aperture of f / 2.0 and the second with f / 2.4. That means that you have to expect a fairly good performance in low light conditions, although without reaching the top level. Where we are really going to take advantage of it is in group photos or by taking a photo with a monument or large building behind. One of the lenses is wide angle, which means that it is capable of capturing wider photos that do not miss anything.
There is also an emphasis on the bokeh mode . It is one of the star functions of recent times. And it consists, basically, of being able to make blur effects on an image by playing with the foreground and background. There is the option of doing this effect through software, but it is clear that the results you are going to achieve are not close to the level of fineness when you have a double camera. By the way, this point cannot be passed without adding that this double camera also includes an LED flash . In general, I am not very fond of photos with flash, but it is a bonus that very few front cameras include.
On the other hand, the Weimei WePlus 3 also incorporates a double camera on the rear . In this case, a combined lens with invoice Samsung 13 megapixel with a target of 5 megapixel Omnivision . With these cameras you can enjoy the same functions as in selfie cameras. It also records 1080p video at 30fps.
Infinite screen with HD + resolution
More than a fashion, it is already a trend. The infinity or frameless screen has become the big star this year. First in high-end models like the Samsung Galaxy S8 + or the LG G6, and then in a wide variety of mid-range equipment. The WePlus 3 did not want to be left behind and arrives on the market with a 6-inch panel . It is surrounded by virtually non-existent side frames and very thin top and bottom frames. As usual in these cases, the buttons (physical or tactile) of the lower frame have been eliminated.
The screen format is 18: 9 , halfway between widescreen (16: 9) and cinema (21: 9) screens. It is a format that has been used very little in recording, and that means that there is not much adapted content. On a practical level, this means that when watching video we will have to decide between a zoom effect or not enjoying the video with the entire screen (with a black strip on each side). Of course, the fever of this type of screen is making specific content appear faster and faster and that apps also adapt to this type of screen.
The resolution of the panel of the Weimei WePlus 3 is HD +, 1,440 x 720 pixels . It is one of the less advanced sections of the mobile, since it can be somewhat short for the size of six inches. Its technology is IPS and the glass is slightly curved, to create a more attractive sensation.
Elegant metal design
Weimei did not want to be less in design and follows in the wake of other mid-range smartphones that use metal in their designs . The firm has opted for a classic touch with the design in black. Regardless of the weight of the screen on the front, we must highlight the use of rounded edges to facilitate grip. The back has a matte tone that looks less spectacular than the glass backs, but which reflects much less fingerprints (basically, something to be thankful for if you continuously use your mobile).
At the top and centered is your fingerprint reader in a circular shape . In our experience, this is the most comfortable and natural position to unlock the equipment. The double camera is positioned above it on the left side, protected by a layer of glass. This position and format quite remind us of the Huawei P9. The advantage is that these sensors do not protrude above the design and are in good harmony with the rest of the design. For example, it is something that breaks a bit with the Honor 7X.
The full dimensions of the mobile are 160 x 76.6 x 8.2 mm . It is not a particularly slim team but it does remain in very competitive figures. As for its weight, it stands at 188 grams .
Memory, power and operating system
As for the power of the Weimei WePlus 3, this terminal incorporates a processor from MediaTek. Specifically, an eight-core MT6757CD with a speed of up to 2.6 GHz. In principle, this is a chip that should run without problems most applications and games. However, we will have to test it in depth to know to what extent it allows fluidity in all processes. What is evident is that its 4 GB of RAM will allow us to work with many open applications at the same time without slowing down the device.
Another feature that we find very interesting is its internal memory, which reaches up to 64 GB . A very remarkable capacity that should be sufficient for normal use of the phone. If we still need more space on the equipment, we can use a microSD memory card of up to 256 GB .
Connections and operating system
In the field of connections, one of the main attractions of the WePlus 3 is its dual slot for two SIM cards . An excellent option if we want to use the personal account and the work account on the same mobile. Of course, we must bear in mind that as is usual in these cases if we put the two SIM cards we will not be able to expand space through microSD.
We would also like to highlight the presence of FM radio at this point . This is a function that many mobiles (especially high-end) are abandoning, but there are still many users who want to listen to the radio in a traditional way. In addition, it is an advantage in those points where the coverage does not reach well (or if we run out of rate data).
Other connections that the WePlus 3 includes are GPS or Bluetooth 4.0 . Its operating system is Android 7.0 , with its own software layer called weOS. We have not yet been able to test it in this terminal, but if it follows in the wake of weOS in previous WePlus we will enjoy a fairly clean interface without many additions. This is appreciated when it comes to achieving a smoother user experience.
Autonomy, price and opinions
We enter one of the most interesting features of the WePlus 3. And it is that this terminal incorporates a powerful 4,010 milliamp battery. Unless the equipment has not been well optimized, we are talking about an excellent battery that could last more than a day and a half of use. And more so considering that in this case a screen with HD + resolution has been chosen . As always, we will have to see its real performance when working with the smartphone, but this battery aims very high.
The Weimei WePlus 3 already lands in Spanish stores with a price of 329 euros, although you can get it for 269 euros temporarily as a launch offer.
In short, we are facing a mobile that has many attractions to make a gap between the mid-range terminals. Starting, of course, with its camera offering. And more specifically of its double front camera for taking selfies, which combines a 20 megapixel lens with a 6 megapixel one. Without a doubt, a point to keep in mind if you are a self-portrait enthusiast. Nor should we forget the main camera, with a 13 megapixel lens and a 5 megapixel lens .
Apart from the autonomy that we have mentioned before, its combination of 4 GB plus 64 GB of internal memory is also very interesting. And all this with an attractive metal design with the infinity screen occupying the entire front. Speaking of the screen, this is one of the few buts that can be wielded to the WePlus 3, since it stays in HD + resolution for a six-inch panel. For the rest, a team to keep in mind this Christmas.
