Last Sunday, March 3, Samsung presented its new flagship at the Mobile World Congress fair . The Samsung Galaxy S6 was accompanied by the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge , a variant with a more striking design thanks to its screen curved towards both sides of the equipment. Apart from this detail, both models are practically the same. They have a 5.1-inch panel with QHD resolution , 64-bit eight-core Exynos 7420 processor , 16-megapixel camera with optical stabilizer and Android 5.0 Lollipop as standard. Samsung also includes anew version of its TouchWiz interface , which comes with very interesting changes regarding customization . The South Korean company has lightened its visual layer, but they include a new function so that we can change the appearance of the system easily. We tell you how the new custom themes option works on the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.
The SamMobile blog has published a video in which they demonstrate the operation of custom themes on the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge , although there are no differences between it and the normal Galaxy S6 . The themes proposed by Samsung change the interface design to varying degrees, depending on the theme selected. However, they all have the ability to alter the same elements of the system; details like the wallpaper , the icons , the color system , the ringtones, the widgets or font.In this way we can give a different air to the team in a very simple way. In order to change the theme of the Samsung Galaxy S6, you have to do a long press on any empty place on the home screen . A menu will open with several options, among which we will find Themes . Within this section appear the themes that we have downloaded to the device and also others available for download.
Applying a theme is very simple, just click on it and hit the Apply button, after a few seconds it will show us the home screen with the new design. In the video we see in more detail the themes Space and Purple , each of them with a different style. Samsung offers a theme store where we can find more options organized by categories depending on your style. In addition, they also allow you to edit some elements of each theme to adjust it to the user's taste.
Samsung debuted custom themes with the Samsung Galaxy A5 and Samsung Galaxy A3 , launched in October last year, but now perfects it with the new Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. The system is very simple and intuitive and will allow any user to change the design of their mobile in a few simple steps, avoiding other more complex methods that require root access. At the moment they are not for sale, but the initial offer of themes is quite wide and is expected to continue growing later, but it is not clear whether the company will allow the download of third-party themes.
