How to set Google back as the default search engine in Chrome

It sure has happened to you on more than one occasion. Although if you are desperately looking for the solution, chances are that you have never found yourself in this eggplant or that you do not know very well how to return to your favorite configuration .

Obviously most of us use Google . Searching through Bing or Yahoo is definitely a waste of time. Because we have to admit it: without Google we are misplaced and we inevitably think that the search results we get are not as good or accurate as they should be.

But sometimes it happens. The system is misconfigured, we don't really know how. It may also happen that we have toyed between the different Chrome configuration options and that we have finally touched the option of our preferred browser by accident. Whatever your case, right now we help you to return Google as the top search system in your Chrome browser. If it is a matter of that detail, returning to normality will not cost you a minute.

Google Chrome

Set Google as the default search engine in Chrome

Lets start by the beginning. For a few days or a few hours, your header browser has been deconfigured and you have to recover it as soon as possible. To achieve this, do the following:

1. Open your Chrome browser as usual. Next, click on the icon with the three vertical dots, located in the upper right part of the browser. The menu in which you have all the options will be activated.

2. You have to select the Settings option . A long list of features to configure will open up before you. One of the ones we just need now is the one referring to the browser. Scroll to the bottom of the page to find the configuration box that reads Finder.

3. If the fault of a Yahoo! or any other search engine in the address bar of your browser has the deconfiguration of this section, here you will see that the search engine used in the address bar is indeed Yahoo! or Bing. And this is just what you have to change.

4. Click on the gray box to select the browser you prefer again, which in this case will be Google. If you are not very clear about what type of search engines and which links the browser uses, you can also click on the option Manage search engines .

Make sure to make the links you don't want disappear

Be careful, if you leave those links that do not interest you there, the system may be deconfigured again at any time. What we recommend is to eliminate them from the root, so that you do not have to deal with them anymore. Simply click on the icon with the three dots, located in each of the links, to activate the menu.

Then choose the Remove from list option . It's all you have to do to make sure that these links don't bother you again by changing your browser settings. Repeat the same procedure as many times as necessary, depending on the number of times other search engines appear in this section.

Then you can also add the search engines you need yourself. Simply click on the Add button to enter all the information you need: the name of the search engine, the keyword (to help you identify it) and the URL to which the browser will redirect. When you are done, click on the Add button and everything will be solved.

Exit the Settings section (you don't have to click any other button to save changes). When you access Chrome again you will see that Google has returned as your main browser.
