The main function of a smart bracelet, beyond monitoring sleep and physical activity, is precisely to show notifications from the phone. In the case of the Xiaomi Mi Band, the synchronization of the bracelet with Android and iOS is done through the Mi Fit application. Unfortunately, the application has some operating problems that result in the asynchrony of system notifications with the aforementioned bracelet , which means that the bracelet does not show notifications.
"I do not receive notifications to My Band 4", "My Band 3 does not show notifications", "I have problems with the notifications of WhatsApp in the Mi Band 3" or "WhatsApp does not vibrate in the Mi Band" are some of the queries most popular on Google in relation to the Xiaomi bracelet. On this occasion we have compiled some methods in the form of a solution that will serve to fix any problem with the Xiaomi Mi Band. Most, by the way, are compatible with the Xiaomi Mi Band 2, Mi Band 3 and Mi Band 4 .

Solution 1: check that app notifications are enabled
Although it is not something very common, the notification problems of the Mi Band can be due to the fact that the Mi Fit application resets all the settings that we have previously configured to their original factory state. To activate the notifications again we will have to go to the Profile tab, press immediately on the bracelet. In the Alerts section of applications we will click on the option of the same name and then on Manage applications.
Within this last section we will have to select all those applications whose notifications we want to be synchronized with the bracelet. WhatsApp, Telegram, Twitter, Instagram ... The options depend on the eu applications we have installed on the phone.
Solution 2: turn on call alerts if calls don't vibrate
Another problem related to the notifications of the Xiaomi Mi Band has to do with calls, either because their reception is not notified or because the bracelet does not vibrate. In any of the cases we will have to go again to the Profile tab and immediately click on Incoming calls .
If we want the notifications to arrive at the moment we will have to deactivate the option to Delay alerts.
To make sure that the bracelet notifies the calls correctly, we must activate the Alerts of incoming calls and Show contact information options .
Solution 3: enable Mi Fit sync in the background
Layers of customization such as MIUI from Xiaomi, Oxygen OS from OnePlus or EMUI from Huawei quite aggressively limit the execution of applications in the background in order to save battery life. This limitation may cause the Mi Fit application to stop running randomly .
To reverse this limitation we will have to go to the Applications section in Settings and then select My Fit. Within this we will go to the Permissions section or to the Battery section (it depends on the Android version and the installed customization layer). In both sections we will have to make sure that the Automatic start option is active together with the Unrestricted option in the Background section that we can see in some versions of Android.
Solution 4: if you use multiple apps, check your notification settings
Within the ecosystem of the Xiaomi Mi Band there is a whole compendium of applications compatible with it. Applications like Notify and Fitness or Tools and Mi Band that allow you to configure the notifications of the bracelet to our liking. In both cases we will have to resort to the notification settings of each application to carry out the checks that we have mentioned above.
If we want to configure notifications in a third-party application, we will have to deactivate the alerts in My Fit so that they do not conflict.
Another aspect that we must take into account is that all of these depend on Mi Fit to function correctly. This means that we will not be able to uninstall the aforementioned application in any way .
Solution 5: delete the Mi Band and re-sync it with the Mi Fit
Still not showing on-screen notifications? The last solution before proceeding with the restoration of the bracelet is to unpair it from Mi Fit and synchronize it again through the phone's Bluetooth connection. The process is as simple as going to the Profile tab and selecting the bracelet. Now we just have to go to the Unlink option that we can find at the bottom of the application.
When the bracelet has been completely unlinked we will have to synchronize it again by clicking on the Add device button that we find in Profile. Later we will configure the alerts as we have indicated in the first solution .
Solution 6: factory reset the Mi Band
The most drastic solution to the notification problems of the Xiaomi bracelet is to restore its configuration from the factory. In the Xiaomi Mi Band 2, Mi Band 3 and Mi Band 4 we can find an option in the More section within the options of each bracelet that will allow us to restore the system completely.
To accept the operation in all cases we will have to keep our finger on the haptic button or touch screen. Once it has been restored we will have to synchronize it to the Mi Fit phone using. Since the data will have been permanently deleted , the information regarding the number of steps, the amount of calories consumed or the hours of sleep collected by the bracelet cannot be recovered in any way. For this reason, we recommend you synchronize the Mi Band before applying the restoration process so that the data is stored in the application.
