Spotify is one of the most popular music streaming services in the world. It has a catalog of millions of songs to listen to for free (with advertising) or through a monthly subscription that removes the ads and offers more options. Just a few weeks ago, Spotify announced that it had already surpassed 15 million premium subscribers, while active users rise to a total of 60 million, which is said soon. The social nature of Spotify, which integrates with Facebook and other networks,makes it very practical not only to listen to music, but to be able to know what our friends are listening to and share our favorite albums and artists with them. The playlists or reproduction lists allow us to create a selection of the songs that we like the most, grouped by genre, period or however we want. Creating a collaborative list is very simple, whether we are using the desktop version or the application for mobile phones and tablets of Spotify. If we are on the computer, we just have to choose the option "New Playlist" found in the left panel of the application. Once we click on it, we give the playlist a name and press enter to save it. In this case we have not warmed our heads and we have called it "Collaborative List".
What we have done is create a normal playlist, but now we have to make it collaborative. Once we have created it, we right click on it and select the option "Collaborative Playlist" , it will automatically become an open list so that anyone can add a song.
The mobile version also offers a very simple method and is practically identical to the desktop version, but the interface is different. We click on the + button and name the playlist, then we keep pressed on it until the menu appears and we select the option "Make collaborative".
A collaborative list allows anyone to add songs, but for this it is better if we share it with those we want to participate. In the same way as with any other list, song or album, if we click on the right button we will see the Share option , the pop-up window that appears when pressing it has two tabs. The first allows us to share it on social networks such as Facebook, Twitter or Tumblr, we can also accompany it with a message inviting participation. The second tab allows us to send it to Spotify users that we have in our friends list, so we can ask them to participate individually.
The lists that are collaborative appear marked with a small circle in the icon that accompanies them. When another user adds a song to our list, Spotify notifies us by showing a warning with the number of songs that have been added since the last time we consulted it.
The mobile version also shows notifications when someone subscribes to the list or adds a song , exactly the same as with the rest of playlists .
