Technical differences
Let's quickly recall the technical differences that we have between the two Sony consoles. The PS4 Slim is technically identical to the PS4 that was released in 2013, only improving on the docking ports. However, the PS4 Pro does offer a substantial improvement, especially in the graphics processor .
The latest model has a more powerful processor, adds 1 GB of extra RAM to run the system and improves the graphics. When the PS4 Pro hit the market, the truth is that there were very few titles that took advantage of the greater power of the latest Sony console. Now, more than two years later, this has radically changed. Virtually every flagship release comes with improved graphics for the PS4 Pro . In addition, many of the games that were already on the market at that time have been receiving patches to improve their graphics.
How do we know if the game that interests us takes advantage of the graphics of the PS4 Pro? If we buy it in physical format we will have a small symbol on the box that tells us that it has been improved for PS4 Pro . To determine which version of PlayStation 4 is best for you, you need to consider three determining factors. The first is your television. If you have a TV with 4K resolution and compatible with HDR images, I personally think you should buy the PS4 Pro . With the latest Sony console and a compatible TV, you'll get more realistic textures, sharper graphics, and richer colors. In addition, in most games you will get a somewhat higher performance (often invaluable to the human eye).
If you do not have a 4K TV, do not plan to buy it soon or you always play on a monitor, save a few euros and buy the PS4 Slim . You will not notice practically any difference at a visual level between the Pro and the Slim if you do not have the right screen.
The second factor to consider is whether you are going to use the PlayStation VR . If you want to enter the world of games in virtual reality, you better opt for the PS4 Pro . By having greater power, it substantially improves the graphics of Sony VR glasses.
Finally, you must take your budget into account . Right now we are in a time when we do not have too many offers, since we have just passed dates with very strong discounts on both consoles and games. We have done a little research and now we can get the 500 GB PS4 Slim with two controllers for 330 euros . That same pack but with the 1 TB PS4 Pro goes up to 430 euros .
