The main difference with respect to the 2018 version comes from the cameras. Also some functionalities that are only available in the new batch of phones. Lock any app with your face or fingerprint
It is not an exclusive function of the Redmi Note 8T, 8 and 8 Pro, but it extends to all the brand's phones: we can block any application using the MIUI face unlock or through the fingerprint .
For this we can resort to Settings / Applications / Application blocking to proceed with the selection of applications that we want to block. Next we will select some of the unlocking methods that are available on the phone: from an alphanumeric pattern to the fingerprint.
Improve the quality of photos by installing the Google camera
Also known as Google Camera. The camera app is known for improving things like contrast or dynamic range of images, not to mention the results in Portrait mode and Night mode. To install the application on any of Xiaomi phones, however, we will have to resort to a modified version .

Unlock the screen by double-clicking
A function that is disabled by default and that makes it easier to read notifications. Activating it is as simple as going to the Lock screen section that we can find in the Settings application.
Within this we will activate the option with the name of Activate Lock screen for notifications . After activation, all you have to do is press twice on the screen with the phone locked to view its content. The ideal is to activate the face unlock to make the process even more agile.
Activate hidden camera options
Did you know that MIUI has a series of hidden options in its camera application? To activate them, however, we will have to resort to a third-party file explorer, since the native explorer does not have the ability to create configuration files . We can use Cx Explorer, available on Google Play for free.

Within the application once we have installed it we will have to go to the DCIM folder , where we will create a file with the following name:
- lab_options_visible
Finally we will go to the native camera application, and more specifically to Settings (cogwheel on the top bar) and Additional Settings .
A whole list of options will be displayed automatically that will allow us to modify some parameters of the image.
Set a song as your ringtone
MIUI has gradually limited the possibility of setting custom songs and tones as ringtones. Fortunately MIUI 11 allows us to modify this parameter through the Sounds and vibration section within Settings .
Next we will go to the option Phone ringtone and then to Choose a local ringtone . Now we just have to select one of the available options: Music, File manager, Recorder ...
