If you travel and need a laptop to carry around that is not too heavy, the Lenovo Ideapad S340 may be the option you are looking for. This equipment is emerging as one of the most stylish of the company, weighing 1.5 kilos, well below that of some conventional laptops. To all this must be added its extensive performance. The Ideapad S340 is powered by the 8th generation Intel Core i7 processors, along with up to 12GB of RAM.
Another aspect to highlight is security. The laptop has a privacy shutter that camouflages the webcam to prevent a hacker from spying on us or stealing information. The computer is also governed by Windows 10 Home and has up to 9 hours of autonomy according to configuration. If you are interested in knowing its main keys, do not stop reading. We reveal five of them.

1. Stylish design
The Lenovo Ideapad S340 is a modern and light computer, which we can transport without problems on trips and outings. It presents a minimalist design, with slim edges that will allow you to make the most of the screen. This has a size of 14 inches with Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080), enough to see all kinds of content, use tools and work without leaving your eyes in the attempt. The laptop can be purchased in four different colors: black, pink, blue or platinum gray. In addition, it is also possible to have a keyboard with white backlight as an option.
2. High performance processor
The IdeaPad S340 is enabled so that we can use several tasks at the same time, allowing us to work with different programs or tools. It comes powered by an eighth-generation Intel Core i7 processor, accompanied by up to 12GB of RAM. In terms of storage capacity, you can opt for a PCIe SSD of up to 512GB or a HDD of up to 256GB + 1TB or up to 2TB.
3. Safety first
Although this model does not have a fingerprint reader, something that many users will miss, the company has not wanted to put security aside. The equipment has a privacy shutter, which closes the webcam automatically when you stop using it. In this way, we will not have to worry if the session has been left open or if a hacker has taken over the computer and can observe us through it. Although it may seem strange, viruses have been found that allow you to remotely control the camera to record its victims, and then ask for money in exchange for not making the videos public. It's better to prevent than to cure.
4. Up to 9 hours of battery life
When buying a laptop, it is good to take into account the autonomy so that the battery does not leave us stranded at the first change, especially if we are going to use it for trips or outings away from home. In this sense, the Lenovo Ideapad S340 does not behave badly at all. According to the company, the team is ready to play up to 9 hours of video, or between 8.45 / 7.72 hours of browsing, keeping the screen brightness at 150 nits.
As we always comment when talking about this section, a longer or shorter battery life will depend a lot on the configuration that we have established. What is always appreciated, and in this case if it does, is the fast charging function. This means that we can charge the laptop for 15 minutes to enjoy about two hours of use. Imagine that you can make a stop in a cafeteria or public place during your trip and put it to charge, you will only have to wait that long to not worry for 120 minutes of the battery on your way.
5. Multiple connection and port options
The Lenovo Ideapad S340 includes a wide variety of port and connection options:
- 2 USB 3.1 (one supports charging)
- USB-C
- HDMI
- 4-in-1 SD card reader
- Headphone / microphone combo port
- DC socket
- 802.11 AC 1 × 1 and 2 × 2
- Bluetooth 4.2
At the moment, the equipment is not available to buy. During its launch last February it was commented that it could land on the market during the month of March or April. March has passed and it hasn't, so we hope that it will finally see the light of day later this month. Of course, we do not know if it will arrive in Spain or we will have to wait a little longer to see it here. The price is also a mystery. We will update the news as soon as we have new information.
