With the passage of time, calls from companies at odd hours with the aim of offering a certain product or service are becoming more common. To this are added the calls from phone numbers that we do not have saved in the mobile phone as personal contacts. Today there are many applications to block or silence calls. Fortunately, most of the companies have decided to include an option that allows to turn off the tap of annoying or unknown numbers , and this time we have made a compilation of all of them.
How to block calls on a Samsung mobile
If you have a Samsung phone, the Samsung One UI layer itself has options to block calls. The way to proceed is as follows:
- Access the Phone or Calls application.
- Click on the three points in the upper Options bar and select the Settings option.
- Select Block numbers.
- Activate the Block Unknown Callers option if you want to block calls from unknown numbers.
- Add the phone number or numbers you want to block.
Another option that Samsung offers us is to block numbers directly from the call history. In this case the process is as simple as pressing and holding the number and selecting the Block number option .
If what we want is to activate the Do not disturb mode to block calls from any number, we can add certain exceptions. We can proceed as follows:
- Access the Settings application.
- Select the Notifications section and then the Do not disturb option.
- Select Allow exceptions.
- In Calls from or Messages we can add exceptions in the form of contacts or phone numbers to receive calls or messages with the Do not disturb mode active.
How to silence or block calls from a Huawei or Honor mobile
If we have an Honor Huawei or Huawei mobile with EMUI in its latest version, the process to follow is very similar to that of Samsung mobiles. In summary, we will have to follow the following steps:
- Access the Phone or Calls application.
- Click on the three points in the upper Options bar and select the Filter option.
- Select Call blocking rules.
- Activate the option to Block all incoming calls, Block all unknown numbers or Block private / held numbers, depending on your preferences. If we activate the first one, we will stop receiving calls from any number.
As with Samsung mobiles, the Phone application also allows us to add a whole list of contacts or numbers to block .
- Access the Filter option again within the Calls or Telephone application.
- Inside Filter, click on the gear wheel of the upper bar.
- Select the Blacklist option and add the number or numbers you want to block.
Do we prefer to activate Do not disturb mode? In this case, EMUI integrates the same options as Samsung One UI.
- Access the Settings application.
- Select the Sounds section and then the Do not disturb option.
- Activate or deactivate the Repeat callers option if you want to prevent calls from being silenced after receiving the first call.
- In Calls and Messages in the Allow interruptions section, add the number or list of numbers so that the phone notifies us with each call.
How to block calls on an iPhone
Since the latest versions of iOS, Apple has been including a series of options that allow us to block calls from both hidden numbers and unknown numbers. The process to follow is as follows:
- Access the Settings or Configuration application
- Click on the Phone application in the Applications section and then on Silenced calls and blocked contacts.
- Activate the option to Silence unknown numbers if you want to block the reception of calls from numbers that are hidden or that are not stored in the iPhone phonebook.
If what we want is to block a certain list of telephone numbers, we can carry it out through the same settings within the Telephone section:
- In Calls mute and blocked contacts, click on Blocked contacts.
- Add the phone number or numbers you want to block.
How to block calls on a Xiaomi mobile
MIUI, like Samsung and Huawei, has several options to mute calls on Xiaomi. In this case, the steps to follow are the following:
- Access the Phone or Calls application.
- Click on the sandwich menu in the lower Options bar and select the Call Settings option.
- Select Block List and then Call Black List.
- Activate the option to Block calls from hidden numbers and Block calls from strangers. The latter will block the call of any number that we have previously added.
If we choose to create a custom call blacklist, we can follow the instructions below:
- Inside the Block List in the Calls application, click on Block List.
- In Blocked numbers add the phone number or numbers you want to block.
How to mute calls on a OnePlus mobile
OnePlus mobiles could not be missing. OxygenOS, the company's personalization layer, has a section specifically designed to block calls.
- Access the Phone or Calls application.
- Click on the number you want to block within the call log.
- Click on the three Options points in the top bar and select the Block number option.
The layer also has a black list where we can add numbers manually . We can proceed as follows:
- Within the Telephone or Calls application, click on the three Options points.
- In the Settings section select Call settings.
- Select Call Blocking and enter the numbers you want to block on your phone.
How to block calls on an LG phone
On LG phones, like the LG Q6 or LG G7 , the process to mute or block calls on the phone is very similar.
- Access the Call or Telephone application.
- Click on the number you want to block within the call log.
- Click on the three Options points on the top bar or keep your finger on the number and select the Block number option.
If we choose to do a massive block, we can do it through the black list that incorporates LG's personalization layer. To do this, we will have to follow the following steps:
- Access the Settings or Configuration application.
- In the Sound Networks section, select Call settings and then in Block the call and reject with message.
- Activate the Private number option if you want the phone to block calls from hidden numbers.
- Inside Blocked numbers add the list of numbers you want to block. In Filtering by digits you can block numbers based on the prefix (902, 923, 837 ...) that precedes the number in question.
How to silence calls on mobiles with pure Android (Motorola, BQ, Sony, Nokia, Alcatel ...)
Android Stock also has its own method to block or silence calls. If the phone does not have its own Phone or Calls application, but rather the native Android application, the process to follow is really simple. This is applicable to any Motorola, Alcatel, Nokia, some Xiaomi with Android One, Sony, Wiko and a long etcetera.
- Access the Phone or Calls application.
- Click on the menu with three dots on the top Options bar and select the Settings option.
- Select Blocked numbers and add the list of numbers you want to block.
- Go back and access the Caller ID and spam option.
- Activate Caller ID & Spam and Filter Spam Calls.
As with most marking, if we want to add exceptions within Do not disturb mode we can do it as follows:
- Access the Settings application.
- Under Sound select Do not disturb.
- In the Calls section, click on Allow calls and select the option that best suits your preferences (From anyone, Only from highlighted contacts ...).
- Activate the Allow repeat calls option if you want the phone to notify the call after the first call.
My mobile cannot block calls, what do I do?
Most of the settings that allow you to mute and block calls are only available in the latest versions of Android and iOS. If we have a mobile phone with several years behind it, we can use third-party applications to stop receiving calls .
Truecaller ID
One of the most complete applications for Android. In addition to having the option to block phone numbers, it has a caller ID capable of recognizing numbers of companies, companies and telephone operators based on the information reported by users.

Mr. Number
