Every day it is clear that a good part of the future of audiovisual content passes through subscription services. First it was music with Spotify , Deezer, Grooveshark and the like. The new offer is included in the Premium Plan mode which, for a monthly fee of 6.99 euros per month, offers unlimited access to a selection of movies and series from its catalog.
The new section, called Adult Cinema of the Wuaki Premium Plan , currently includes 57 films, seven of which are male-gay themed. However, it should be clarified that, although the online video store calls them movies, in reality each of them is a medium-long sequence (around 30 minutes in some cases) that, nevertheless, are above 10- 15 minutes that the average consumption of this type of cinema usually lasts.
The most surprising thing is, of course, that the inclusion of porn movies in the Wuaki Premium Plan does not have an associated increase in the monthly fee for the service or, as in other cases, an additional monthly fee for accessing said content. Such is the case, for example, of the Movistar Imagenio service . This service, recently redesigned, has launched a new channel for adults, with content on demand. Its offer consists of eight movies per month (which the user can watch as many times as they want) for a monthly fee of 16.94 euros .
The most striking thing about this news is that, so far, porn movies are one of those few genres that still make a lot of money. You just have to look at the rental prices of these films in online video stores, hotel services, etc., it is always similar, and in some cases even higher, than the premieres for rent. For example, in one of these services, the price of the most viewed porn movies for rent ranges between 5 and 7 euros. For its part, the most viewed general cinema, are rented for between 3 and 4 euros.
However, it is also true that in recent years video websites have proliferated on the Internet, in the style of YouTube (some are even inspired by the name of Google's online video service) specialized in porn videos. This competition, which also coincides with the arrival of the Internet on many televisions, has surely marked a downward trend in traditional adult film consumer channels. And, of course, this may have been the reason that has encouraged its producers to try new systems, cheaper for users, to distribute their content.
