The Sony Xperia Z was unveiled earlier this year at the CES show in Las Vegas and remains, not only Sony's flagship , but also one of the most advanced mobiles of the moment. The device combines a very attractive design (which is also waterproof), with a cutting-edge technical profile. This mobile competes in the first division against other heavyweights such as the Samsung Galaxy S4 , the LG G2 or the HTC One, but Sony is already planning the launch of a superior model with a more complete camera: the Sony Xperia Honami Z1 . Apart from this, the Xperia Z has very complete featuressuch as the sound improvements that the brand includes. We tell you how these features work and how to configure the Xperia Z sound profile.
The Sony Xperia Z audio configuration options can be found in the Settings section , within the Sounds menu . When we enter this option, the first thing we see are two boxes called Clear Phase and xLOUD. The first consists of an automatic adjustment of the speaker volume , so that a softer result is achieved and the frequencies are more balanced - the bass does not distort and the treble is heard clearer. On the other hand xLOUD allows the volume of the music to be higher without distorting it, generating a more enveloping sound. With these two functions activated we can listen to our favorite songs clearly and clearly. In addition, Sony offers the possibility of adjusting the volumes to establish the maximum limit. For example, if we don't want to damage our ears when listening to music, we can lower the level a bit. You can also adjust the maximum volume of the ringtones and the alarm, although if you want to find out everything you do not have to lower it too much, a little is enough to avoid excessive wear of the speaker.
If we continue down the sounds menu we can also choose the ringtone that we like the most from the huge list of available options. We can also make the volume increase little by little and that there is vibration at the same time, so if there is noise we can notice how it vibrates if we carry it in our pocket or bag. The next option is to choose the notification tone , which will be the one that sounds when we receive an alert from Facebook, a WhatsApp or any type of notification. Then we can mark a series of options that it is better to deactivate in order to extend the battery life. For example the sounds when we type or when we touch the screen, vibration when touching or sound when locking the screen. These characteristics are not necessary and can negatively influence energy consumption, so we recommend having them turned off.
Finally we talk about our experience with the sound quality of the Xperia Z . To begin with, the difference when using Clear Phase and xLOUD is remarkable, but the truth is that if we set the volume to the maximum, sharpness is lost, it is much better to maintain a medium-high level to appreciate the improvements. It has also caught our attention that the speaker is practically silenced if we place a finger on it, in addition to its position (on the right side) it is quite easy to pass but it is not a serious problem either.
