The Mattel booth at CES 2009 was one of the busiest of the entire show . And not because it had the most showy hostesses. Most of the people who passed by were impressed by Mind Flex , the new game that is controlled by brain waves . The California toy firm has had the collaboration of the firm Neurosky EGG , which specializes in the study and manufacture of equipment that works with EEG technology . A new technology capable of measuring brain activity and that has been used to create this Mind Flex game.
The game consists of the user lifting and moving a ball within an obstacle course , solely and exclusively with the power of their mind . Concentration is essential and if you lose, the ball falls and the game is lost . To get to control the ball with your mind, you just have to put on headphones that carry sensors . Thanks to EEG technology , it is possible to read the concentration status of each player: an essential requirement when it comes to being an ace in this game.
But Mattel is not alone in its bid for these games. The American toy firm Uncle Milton has teamed up with Neurosky to create " The Force ", a game that also consists of lifting a ball with the power of the mind. Mattel will put the Mind Flex on sale during the month of September 2009 at an approximate price of 60 euros .
