The new version of Popcorn is not what it seems

Although the application was open source, Popcorn Time was cloned hundreds of times in its day. This Tuesday we learned via Twitter that a new version had appeared as from the dead .

Version 4.0 of the app returns in a sweet moment for streaming services, in which we can consume almost any content legally through a multitude of services such as Netflix, HBO, Hulu, Disney +, Amazon Prime Video or Apple TV +.

But is it really worth using this pirate service again? The answer is no. While many sites have echoed the news about the return of the application in all its glory, this new version of Popcorn Time is not even the shadow of what it used to be .

There are several negative comments and criticisms made by many users who in the last few hours ran to download their longed-for app, if only to remember old times. But what has been their surprise when they have found an application that is leaking everywhere.

Hundreds and hundreds of complaints about malfunctions , excessive use of CPU resources, detected malware and many other errors that the app simply did not have before. In this Reddit thread, you can follow all the barrage of criticism that is falling on Popcorn Time 4.0.

Whether or not these errors will be corrected in the next few hours is anyone's guess. What is clear is that those who expected to find the app of yesteryear, are going to be disappointed. Of course, we do not predict a great future for him .
