Google+ is officially shutting down after eight years since its launch back in 2011. It does so for various reasons. The email in question specifies that it will be on February 2 when Google will close all Google+ pages and publications . All photographs and albums that we have shared through the aforementioned network will also be deleted. This is not the case with albums and images that we have stored in Google Photos, as they will remain intact in our personal account.
Does this mean that from February 2 we will stop seeing everything related to our profile? Not quite. Although Google establishes April 2 as the deadline, in the same email the company ensures that the deletion of the content will be done progressively . Be that as it may, it is advisable in any case to download all its content before the day arrives, as it will be from the 4th of April when the page blocks any possibility of creating new profiles, pages, communities and events .
How to download photos and images from Google+ before its closure
The good news in all this is that we can download all the data related to our profile. This is indicated by Google in the email sent to all its users.
To download all the publications, images, events and everything related to our Google+ profile, we will have to access the following link. The download process is as simple as selecting all the data we want to download and configuring the way in which we want Google to send it to us .
At this point it is very important that we select all the profile information. Since not all are selected by default, it is best to click on the Show more products button . Here we can choose all the services and data that we want to transfer to our account.
If we want to download the data referring to our communities and circles, we must make sure to check the respective boxes of Communities and Circles of Google+ . It is also recommended to check the Blogger and Contacts boxes to store all our friends and comments.
Finally, when we have selected all the data, we will click on Next and we will choose the type of file, the maximum size and the way to receive the data (email, download link…). When we have downloaded the file in question, we will obtain a series of elements in HTML format to view them through the browser as if it were a web page.
