The LG SK10Y is a large sound bar, designed to accompany televisions of 65 inches or more. It sports a nice design in black , with a metallic acoustic grille on the front. Thanks to this sober design, it blends perfectly with almost any TV model.
If we have an LG OLED TV and we want it to be even more integrated, LG sells an adjustable mounting bracket compatible with LG OLED TVs of 65 and 55 inches (C8 / B8) or with the SUPER UHD TV (SK95 / 85).
The full dimensions of the LG SK10Y are 144.3 x 6.3 x 14.6 centimeters . Its height of just over 6 centimeters is important so as not to cover the screen.

Dolby Atmos and high-resolution sound
LG offers us a complete home theater system and high definition music in sound bar format. The LG SK10Y has a 5.1.2 speaker system capable of delivering fully immersive Dolby Atmos at home.
It is equipped with a front trio, which is accompanied by two side and two height speakers . The two sides take care of the surround back effect. On the other hand, the two at the top take care of the height channels, taking advantage of the bounce against the ceiling to make it appear that the sound comes from two speakers located just above the viewer. In fact, the SK10Y allows us to adjust the upper volume independently.
And if we want to have an even more complete sound, we can expand up to 7.1.2 channels and 690 W by coupling the SPK8-S kit . These wireless surround speakers can be used as dedicated rear channels. The kit includes a receiver unit that connects wirelessly to compatible LG sound bars, then connects to the two accompanying speakers. These are placed behind the listener for a true surround effect.
LG has developed this sound bar in collaboration with Meridian, a British company specializing in high resolution audio. The LG SK10Y is Hi-Res certified as it can reproduce lossless stereo audio with quality up to 96kHz / 24-bit . 24-bit sound contains more data than low-quality audio and is the standard for high-resolution music. This function converts lower resolution audio into a 24-bit high resolution format for a better listening experience.
Wireless audio with the Google Assistant built in
LG's new soundbar is not limited to cinema. It has Bluetooth connectivity and dual band WiFi to be able to play any audio over the network.
But not only that, it is equipped with the Google Assistant . This will allow us to play music, skip tracks and adjust the volume on the sound bar with our voice. Of course, we will need another device with integrated Google Assistant, such as the LG ThinQ Speaker.
It also has Chromecast built in . Thanks to this functionality we can play music from applications such as Pandora or Google Play Music directly on the sound bar. We can also use Chromecast with mobiles or tablets.
In terms of physical connectivity, the LG SK10Y has two HDMI inputs and one HDMI output . Both are compatible with 4K video signals and with the HDCP 2.2 protocol . In other words, we can connect any device, such as game consoles or Blu-Ray players, directly to the sound bar. It also has a digital optical input.

In short, this is a high-end soundbar. By itself it is capable of filling the room with its 5.1.2 channels and its compatibility with Dolby Atmos sound tracks. Also, it can play any other HD audio track. And if we want to complete it with a rear system, it is perfectly compatible with LG's SPK8-S kit.
It comes with a wireless subwoofer that handles the low frequencies and is capable of Hi-Res audio reproduction.
