Can you imagine having a smart watch that you don't have to remove every time you dive? The Fitbit Versa 2 has been designed to withstand a pressure of up to 50 meters of water, so you can go down to the depths of the sea with your oxygen bottle and wristwatch exploring what you find in your path. In addition, it is the first smartwatch of the firm to incorporate the assistant Alexa. In this way, you can ask for information or give orders without having to put your finger on its screen. You just have to press the button and speak to get answers to your questions on screen, know the traffic conditions or know the weather forecast.
The Fitbit Versa 2 includes a 1,000 nit brightness AMOLED touch screen, protected with the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 system, making it resistant to drops and shocks. It also has an optional always-on display mode to easily view the statistics of the exercises or the time without having to press the button or turn the wrist. In this mode, the battery lasts more than two days. If it is not activated it can last up to 6 days, but everything will depend on the configuration established or use.
On the Versa 2 screen you can receive notifications from social networks such as Facebook, WhatsApp or calls, as well as appointments or text messages. It is also capable of sending short responses directly from the wrist (only for Android phones). These options are only possible if we have the mobile nearby. Likewise, the new watch offers the possibility of accessing Spotify or Deezer from the wrist, being able to add new songs or create lists of up to 300 songs.
And, how has it evolved in terms of sleep monitoring? The Fitbit Versa 2 retains the function of controlling the different phases of sleep (REM, light or deep), although now two new functionalities have been added. One of them is Smart Wake, with which we can wake up more calmly. Once we have ordered the clock the time at which we want to wake up, the device will have a margin of half an hour to seek a lighter sleep phase. It will be then that it will emit an insistent buzz in order to get us out of bed. The other functionality is Sleep Score, which analyzes the sleep data from the previous night to assess the quality of sleep, giving a score from 1 to 100.
Fitbit has also included in this version real-time heart rate monitoring, both when we are at rest and when we are training and we are changing rhythm. It is possible to choose between 15 forms of exercise (cycling, yoga, jogging, swimming…). All of them have mileage in real time, statistics also in real time or speed measurement. When it comes to connections, the Fitbit Versa 2 has WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and an NFC chip. Only this. You will not find GPS or LTE connectivity (you have to carry the phone with you to receive calls or messages or for location). The smartwatch is compatible with iOS and Android.
