Today Redmi surprises us with a terminal intended for the low-end or, from the outset, the Redmi 7. Let's see if this terminal manages to perform in the same way as its older brother . Redmi 7, design already seen but still liked
Visually he is very similar to his older brother. Redmi has not wanted to complicate when designing something new to mark the low-end terminals. This is something to be thankful for, the design of the Redmi 7 preserves premium materials, glass and metal. On its front we find a screen that goes from corner to corner, specifically 6.26 inches in an elongated 19: 9 format with HD + resolution mounted on an IPS LCD panel that will give better colors and wider viewing angles. Coated by Corning Gorilla Glass 5, it will be able to withstand scratches or falls from a safe height.
At the top of the screen, we will see the famous notch or notch. This time it is shaped like a drop of water, for the detractors of this feature we must recognize Redmi having reduced its size to a minimum so that it does not manage to break too much on the screen. The frames have been considerably reduced to be a low-end terminal, but we still have a strong lower frame that could have been used to include the keypad. None of this detracts from the Redmi 7 in design.
Turning the terminal we will see ourselves, the glossy finish on the back is elegant and certainly looks good. But it is more than sure a magnet for the tracks. In the center of this rear is the fingerprint reader, on the left side are the double camera. This camera is contained in an oval capsule in a vertical position, just below the double LED flash. The brand's logo is white and to see it we have to look down almost to the end of the back. The button panel is entirely on the right side, in its lower part we will have the microUSB charging port and the 3.5 mm jack to connect headphones.
Enough power for day to day
Inside we find the "cuts" that make the Redmi 7 an entry-level terminal. When we open the phone, the first thing we would see would be the 4,000 mAh battery. This figure together with the resolution of its screen augurs to give an autonomy of practically two days for any user and the most demanding will arrive without problem at the day of use. The processor and RAM are located on the top of the terminal. It is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632, eight Kyro 250 cores clocked at 1.8GHz.The accompanying GPU is the Adreno 506, the RAM will vary depending on the model chosen. We will have from 2GB to 4GB of RAM going through 3GB. Exactly the same thing happens in storage, the basic model is 16GB, but we can reach up to 64GB with a version halfway between these two 32GB, but all versions have expandable storage via microSD.
All of this is still technical data. But the Redmi 7 in the absence of having tested it, it can be deduced that it will be able to move any application that consumes few resources, it will have more problems with heavy applications or games. You have to think that it is a terminal intended for the entry range, that is, for a basic use in its entirety. In the section of connectivity we see the usual shortcomings of this range, the NFC is the great absent, but we do not have USB type C either . On the contrary, we have Bluetooth 5.0, GPS / GLONASS, LTE, WiFI 802.11 b / g / n and FM radio.
Pricing and availability
This terminal has been presented in India. At the moment Spain is not in the plans of the Asian company . It is possible that in the future this terminal will arrive on the peninsula. When this happens we will notify you, the exchange prices would be 90 euros for the most basic model with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, 105 euros for the model with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage; and 130 euros for the 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage model.
