10 futuristic cars you can find for sale

delorean back to the future

The design of cars is one of the aspects that has evolved the most in recent years, unlike other aspects such as the engine or safety methods. Currently the design lines that most brands follow are quite conservative. This makes almost all cars look similar. This is the case of models such as the Kia Ceed, the Hyundai i30 and the Renault Clio. Fortunately, there are brands and models that differ from the current line, with futuristic car designs that put long teeth on automotive lovers. They also do it with alternatives to the classic gasoline and diesel engine to reduce emissions to 0. This time we have made a compilation of ten cars of the future that already exist and can be bought .

Tesla Roadster (second version)

tesla-roadster

Tesla's highest-end car and one of the fastest in the world. It was introduced throughout 2017 by its former president, Elon Musk, and although it has not yet gone on sale, it is proclaimed as one of the most futuristic cars seen in recent years. Not only because of the bodywork and because it was an electric car, but also because of the benefits of the engine, or rather, engines. In numbers, we find a vehicle that is capable of reaching more than 400 kilometers per hour with an acceleration from 0 to 10 in just 2.1 seconds thanks to its three electric motors. To test a video.

And what about autonomy? Up to 1,000 kilometers , practically twice that of its highest-end model, the Tesla Model S 100D. Currently it is possible to reserve it for 4,000 euros on the official website (later we will have to pay another 211,000 euros). Delivery is scheduled for 2020.

Child EP9

child ep9

Today the fastest electric car in the world (at least until the arrival of the Tesla Roadster 2) despite having been presented in 2016 by the eponymous Chinese brand. Its electric motor has a chilling 1,360 hp with a torque of 6,334 Nm . In practice, the car is capable of accelerating up to 100 kilometers per hour in just 2.7 seconds.

As for the rest of the characteristics, it is made entirely of carbon fiber, reaches a speed of 313 kilometers per hour and has a range of 427 kilometers with a single 45-minute recharge. The price of the car is not far behind; 1.2 million dollars. We can find all kinds of information related to the Neo EP9 on the manufacturer's page.

Porsche Taycan Mission E

Porsche Taycan Mission E

The first concept was launched in 2015 under the name Mission E, and according to Porsche, it will be launched later this year under the name Porsche Taycan . Although it maintains the same lines as most of its current cars, it has a fairly futuristic sports design similar to that of the Tesla Roadster as it is an exclusively electric car.

In what has to do with its characteristics, we find a vehicle that is capable of reaching 100 kilometers per hour in just 3.5 seconds thanks to the 600 hp of the engine . About the maximum speed and autonomy, little is currently known, the only thing we know is that it will be able to reach up to 400 kilometers of autonomy with a single charge of 15 minutes. All kinds of information can be found on the Porsche website.

PAL-V Liberty

PAL-V-Liberty

The flying car has hit the market, and it has a console game name. It is not only a car to use for driving on the road, we can also drive by air thanks to the propellers that it integrates. Of course, we will have to have a license to kill to pilot helicopters if we want to fly with the PAL-V Liberty.

Regarding its characteristics, the flying car has two modes: the road and the airplane mode. With the first we can reach a speed of up to 100 kilometers per hour . If we prefer to fly, we can do it 180 kilometers up to a total height of 3,500 meters. The autonomy in the two modes is 1,300 and 500 kilometers respectively, and can be purchased for a price of 500,000 euros on the official PAL-V website.

AeroMobil

aeromobil

We continue with flying cars and in this case it is the turn of AeroMobil, a brand that presented the first flying car model in 2015. The vehicle with the same name has not yet been put on sale (its commercialization is estimated for 2020 ), but it can be reserved on the official website of the same name for the modest amount of 1.6 million dollars. Unlike the PAL-V model, it is not a helicopter car, but rather a glider vehicle very similar to the concepts shown year after year in futuristic movies .

Its benefits? Body made entirely of carbon fiber and maximum road speed of 160 kilometers per hour with an acceleration from 0 to 100 in 10 seconds . It has a folding wing system that allows the vehicle to glide for just over 750 kilometers on the road with a single tank. The bad thing is that the length of the car exceeds 8 meters, which is why it will not be drivable on a conventional road.

Koenigsegg Regera

Koenigsegg Regera

The sports car of the future that was presented in 2015 by the Swiss brand continues to be today one of the most surprising models, especially for speed. While it is true that its design is very similar to that of current sports cars (Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc.), its power and surely the price make it a unique car. So much so that only 80 units have been manufactured worldwide.

More than 1,800 hp (specifically, 1,822) with a hybrid engine based on three 520 kW electric motors in conjunction with a V8 twin-turbo combustion engine is what makes up the interior of the car. At less than 50 kilometers per hour, the electric motors operate up to a range of 35 kilometers in urban driving. The performance of the Regera is what is most surprising, as it has a maximum speed of 471 kilometers per hour with an acceleration from 0 to 100 in 2.8 seconds,  proclaiming itself as the fastest car in the world. The price? More than two and a half million dollars. You can see all the information about the car and the dealerships where it is sold on the official Koenigsegg website.

Ariel Atom 4

Ariel Atom 4

No, it has nothing to do with Intel processors, but rather with Formula 1. According to specialists, it is the people's racing car, being a car with Formula 1 design and sports car features. The original design was released in 2010, and after several updates, the Ariel Atom 4 was officially released during the second half of last year.

The performance, far from being that of a racing car, is very similar to that of a Ford Mustang. It has a 320 hp VTECT Turbo 2.0 Honda engine that is capable of going from 0 to 100 in about 3 seconds  up to a maximum speed of 261 kilometers per hour. The autonomy of this is very close to 500 kilometers, and its body is made entirely of carbon fiber to lighten weight. The downside is that it can only be driven within a closed circuit, but at least we can buy it for about 45,000 euros. We can book it on Ariel's website. The first deliveries will be made from this summer.

Bloodhound SSC (Super Sonic Car)

Bloodhound CSS

It has not yet been launched on the market but it can already be reserved to give rise to the project of what is supposed to be the fastest car in the world. During this 2019 the Bloodhound will enter the final production phase, and will be able to reach a speed of nothing more and nothing less than 1,600 kilometers per hour through a hybrid propulsion engine.

Little is known about its performance today, the only thing we know for sure is that it will be able to reach 320 kilometers per hour in less than 8 seconds thanks to its EJ-200 turbine (the same one used by the Eurofighter, one of the aircraft the world's fastest propulsion with up to 10 tons of thrust) and the rocket integrated into the rear of the vehicle with 12.5 tons of thrust). We can learn more about this on the Bloodhound page.
