Tired of always seeing the same icon? Windows assigns an icon or graphic for each type of file. Thus, for example, the songs that we store in the MP3 format are always seen with the same icon. This happens with photos in JPG format, documents created with Word or videos with extensions such as .AVI or .MPEG. And a long etcetera. Windows assigns the same icon for files that end with the same extension.
But if you don't like the icon it chooses for you, you can change it. You don't have to resign yourself. Just follow these simple steps to change the drawing with which the files are seen:
1) Double click on the My Computer icon located on the desktop.
2) In the Tools menu choose the Folder Options ...
3) In the window that appears, select the File Types tab . In the list of extensions, select the one whose icon you want to change. Then click on the Advanced options button .
4) At that time, the window for editing the file type opens. Here we have to click on the Change icon button . A window will appear where more drawings and icons will normally be shown to choose from.
5) Now we only have to select the one we like the most. And click on OK twice until the successive windows that have been opened are closed.
