How to forward mail from Gmail to other email accounts

gmail forwarding 1

Forwarding the email received in Gmail to another account is not really complicated. The first thing to do is enter the configuration panel . The entry key is a gear icon in the upper right of the application window. You have to press the gear located in the black bar, which is the one that directs us directly to the mail options . Once there, we see that under the heading of "configuration" , there are several tabs . The fifth of them is "forwarding and POP / IMAP mail" .

In the corresponding screen , at the top, there is the "forwarding" section , and a button that says "add a forwarding address" . You have to press there. A pop-up window appears , and there the forwarding address is entered and accepted. Next, Gmail needs to double check. On the one hand, which is to see if an account operational and legitimate , and secondly that the user knows what is going to forward mail , and agrees . To do this, send a confirmation email to that addressto which you have to respond. If not answered, there is no forwarding. This address can later be modified and even deleted .

We have already seen the first limitation . For security reasons, Google's email service  will not forward email to an address that is not verified . But there is another. This only serves to send the mail that is received from that moment . Sometimes in Gmail we have large amounts of messages already read, which we would like to save elsewhere. But forwarding doesn't work with them. The forwarding service also counts as sent mail, and the service has limits. If you only want some of the emails forwarded , then you have to thread more finer. Everything said so far is valid, but within "forwarding", it appears "create a filter". You have to click on that phrase. The work is carried out in the pop-up window that offers filtering options very similar to those of other mail clients . You can filter by sender , recipient , subject , if it contains certain keywords , or if it does not contain certain specific words. Even if it has attachments or not . Finally, you can make specific filters by clicking on the magnifying glass icon that gives access to our list of received messages. Copy the criteria of the selected messages so that we can decide which ones apply and which ones don't in the new filter. Just click on "create a filter with these search criteria" below . From now on, forwarding with selective filtering will be enabled .
